“what, you used to being called cute or something? or do you want me to get creative with my words? you know i’m not that great at improv –” he scoffs, his smile growing a little wider. “i’m better with my actions, actually.” alex adds in, giving joey a quick little glance. it was shameless, really, for him to start flirting with the intern on set after only five minutes of speaking to him. it was a bit of a cliche, but joey didn’t seem to mind it very much. alex makes a motion as if he was zipping his lips together, “lips are sealed, i promise.” at his statement about his mother, alex couldn’t keep himself from smiling wide at him. “well that’s endearing. and not something i hear a lot of here so… it’s also refreshing. are you sure you’re in the right place?” his tone is playful, but he was half-serious. this industry was cut-throat and brutal.
“i mean, i don’t want to brag or anything... but i am pretty used to being called cute. have you seen this face? do you think you’re the first one to think it was cute?” joey asked with a small smirk on his face, but his face was still red from that interaction, growing warmer with every word the other said. “you’re better with your actions? what is that supposed to mean?” he asked, even though he was pretty sure he knew what the other was talking about - it was easy talking to him, but part of him was still thinking if he should be doing this; after all, joey was just an intern and alex was an actor. at the question, joey let out a chuckle and shrugged his shoulders. “i don’t know, actually. i mean, i like this job and it definitely beats working in a coffee shop, even if i have to get coffees for everyone. but if you’re asking me if i see myself being an intern forever, then my answer is no. everyone is kind of mean to the interns.” he said with a sigh, looking down at his hands and then back at alex. “do you want to be an actor forever?”
