JRushing Custom Dreadnought Acoustic. Maple top, mahogany back sides and neck. Rosewood fretboard and bridge. Diamond inlayed 14 fret to body fretboard. Fully bound, scalloped braces, bone nut and saddle. Smooth hard oil finish. Body is slightly larger that a normal dread and has a very loud full tone.
Here I am in good company with some of the best builders in the country. Jimmy Cox and Wyatt Fawley. I built this banjo as a copy of the archtop style banjo legendary picker Dr Ralph Stanley and Dr Swampgrass Larry Gillis play. This thing is a monster. A combo of mahogany and figured maple. With gold plated hardware. If your looking for that old traditional sound this is it and makes a great clawhammer banjo to.
"The Les Paul Killer" Semi hollow body figured maple and mahogany Languedoc body style. Gibson Zebra pickups with split coil wiring. This is one killer, greasy sounding guitar.

Basswood body, maple neck w/ figured maple fretboard, Tonerider Vintage Plus pick-ups, custom dice knobs w/set screw. Black on black, rat black paint job with one of a kind graphics and pinstriping. Acoustic electric resonator guitar i hand pinstriped. All mahaogany, continental cone, and single coil pick-up. These actually come with paint over the finish so theres no bare wood. The paint has been removed to expose the finish giving it a worn vintage look. The pinstripes and graphics are done with 1Shot Sign Painters Enamel. An industry standard that looks great and is very durable. The homemade dice knobs are attched with a set screw. This guitar sounds excellent both acoustic and amped.

JRushing Swamp Cypress Parlor Guitar. Also known as southern bald cypress. Not a wood typically used for guitar building but I figured for my first complete guitar build I'd give it a shot. It turned out well. I used it for the whole guitar except for the rosewood accents, bridge and fretboard. X-braced with poplar and deer antler for the nut and saddle. It sounds great, nice deep low end with warm mellow highs. The swamp cypress would be great for an acoustic or U bass.
Figured Maple and Walnut banjo w/ Cherry pinstripes. 3ply hide glue rim with rolled brass tonering. Flower inlay, antiqued hardware, vintage style dowel stick and maple frailing scoop. The scale has been extended slightly putting the bridge more center of the head. Making this 11inch rim sound more like a 12. Satin oil finish.
Appalachian Mountain banjo done in the Watauga County, NC style of Stanley Hicks and Frank Proffitt. With some more modern appointments like a larger, deeper local MS cypress pot and bigger calfskin head. Fretted rosewood fretboard w/ walnut neck and minstrel headstock. Geared tuners, integral strap and bear claw inlay. Plenty of volume, tone and punch of a modern openback with an old timey aesthetic.
1924 Gibson TB4 Ball Bearing conversion. This banjo started out as a 4 string tenor banjo with a pyralin resonator. Its been converted to a 5 string, which they didn't originally make many of. The fingerboard extension was typical on many of these banjos, but I shortened it a bit so it wouldn't interfere with clawhammer style playing. The rim is original, intact and in great shape. Instead of using the original pyralin resonator I constructed a resonator similar to the trapdoor style also original to many of these banjos, but this one is solid and raised off the rim. Working more like a modern resonator.
Custom JRushing Tubaphone w/ maple no-hole black lacquered rim with tubaphone tonering. Walnut and rosewood neck w/ moonshine jug inlay, brass marker dots, easy access truss rod adjustment and small frailing scoop. Stained calfskin head, deer antler nut, laser cut bracket flange and a clamshell tailpiece. This is an excellent banjo for clawhammer or old-time finger styles.

1930s era Vega Style F banjo rim w/ rolled brass tonering. Mahogany neck with laminated Maple stripe and pinstripe. Rosewood fretboard, headstock overlay and heelcap. Blank fretboard w/ side thumb scoop and star inlays. Finished up with a beautiful French polish. It's worth noting the neck has been extended a bit so the bridge lands more center of the skin head giving the banjo a "plunkier" sound popular in old-time music today.
11 inch Cherry block rim w/ Cherry laminate and a flat rolled brass tonering. Maple slothead neck with Cherry and Maple pinstriping. Custom Star and Little Dipper inlays on the Rosewood fretboard along with side markers. Antiqued nickel hardware, dowel stick construction and an S shaped frailing scoop. This banjo has great note seperation and the low ends rounded out by the deeper rim. Actually sounds like a 12 inch rim.
