Lean on me | {Harry/David}
David walked out the door, feeling terrible for reacting that way. “David, something wrong?” His boss asked, seeing the depressing look on his face. “N-No.. I’m fine..” He wasn’t.. He wanted to apologize to Harry, go back and tell him it was because he was confused with himself.. “You should be, Sarah will be here soon.” His boss patted him on the back and left. Oh god.. If Harry saw that David kissed him, while having a girlfriend, it’d make him no better than Louis. He walked all the way to his room, and slept, until the sun rose, and everyone had to get up to rehearse, before the actual show began. David was on his way to Harry’s room, until he saw her.. Standing across from him. “David!” She yelled, running towards him. He was shocked. The other boys smiled, seeing the two reunited, but Harry was no where to be seen, and David wanted it to stay that way, until he was alone so they could talk. “H-Hi-” She pulled him in for a kiss, and then in that moment, he caught a glimpse of Harry out of the corner of his eyes, and his stomach dropped. He pulled away from the kissed, and tried gathering everything.
He was kissed by his girlfriend, which had to have been a good thing since they hadn’t seen each other, but he was thinking of Harry the whole time. A girl he had been with since highschool.. Now fading by a teen who he had known as a friend, who got carried away and kissed him. “I-I need to go..” David removed her hands, and turned to catch up to Harry. “Wait up!” He called out to him, watching him walk away. “Harry wait..” He kept walking behind him,and once they were away from the crowds of people, and everyone in the building practically, he reached for Harry’s arm, and spun him around. ”I’m sorry..” David frowned, seeing those eyes looking back at him. “Harry…” He couldn’t stand this tension they always had, but he couldn’t be with him.
“I-I kissed you back because… Because yeah.. I like you.” David looked down, and sighed. So much shame in his head. “But I can’t be with you.. I can’t..” He knew this would be hard, but he was a guy who was true to his word. David told his girl, that he’d be with her until he didn’t feel a connection anymore. Clearly he had something strong with Harry, he did feel sparks when their lips touched, but.. He just didn’t want to be that guy that cheated. “I-I’m sorry..” David let go of Harry’s hand. The sound of footsteps started to come towards them, and David saw Sarah, cross armed and confused by his actions. “I didn’t mean to hurt you.. It was.. It was a reflex..” He said quietly, then nodded as co-workers walked past them. “I don’t want to toy with your emotions like Louis, and I’m sorry if I am..” Sarah ran over and smiled cheerfully, then raised a brow noticing the two were serious. “Um..Hello, you’re Harry Styles.” She grinned widely, though David knew it had to have hurt. “It’s nice to meet the one he’s been protecting..I’m Sarah, his girlfriend.” Sarah held out her hand.
As it turns out, everyone leaves eventually. Even the people who say they're not going to be like that other person and leave right after they get what they want. Well, Harry was slowly beginning to realize the sad, but very real truth that everyone -- sooner or later -- left. Some people left because they wanted to. Some because they needed to. Some because they had to. But no matter what the excuse was, it all boiled down to the one single fact that Harry was alone. And well, that harsh wake-up call made Harry exhaust himself into sleeping by crying into his pillow.
Morning light filtered in through the window, just so happening to hit him in the face, making the curly brunette moan in annoyance. He rolled over, eyes fluttering open to peek at the clock on the bedside table. Early. It was too damn early to do anything. Seeing as the rest of the boys had gotten drunk last night, Harry knew he was the only one up so far. Besides some of the body guards -- None of which he knew too well besides for one that he literally knew too well, and definitely did not want to talk to.
Harry wasn't even sure that he wanted to see David again for the time being. But he did have to leave his room eventually, and to prepare for that, he dragged himself out of bed, shuffling around the room at a tired, slow pace. His shower took nearly an hour, and most of that was sitting under the water. He was going to wank, because that what he normally did, but he wasn't in the mood. And he knew that if he did wank, it'd be thinking of one of two people -- Neither of which he wanted to be thinking of. The nineteen year-old finished getting dressed in the next 20 minutes, sloppily pulling on a beanie, a tank top, and some sweats.
He was finally rounding the corner to the lobby when he saw it. Or, them, was a more polite term. David. And his girlfriend. Kissing. God, he didn't expect it to hurt so much. But, what had he expected? The nearly 30 year-old man to drop everything to be with him? No, of course not. Nothing ever worked out like that for Harry. Nothing seemed to work out for him at all, as of recently. He bit back a sob, promptly turning around and hurriedly walking off in the opposite direction. And of course. David had to follow. And then he grabbed his arm when he ignored him, spinning him around to lose himself in those beautiful blue eyes.
His emerald orbs were red and brimmed with tears, dark with anger and riddled with hurt. "No, fuck this. Fuck you. I'm not.. I'm not some toy, David! Didn't you tell me this last night? I'm not a goddamned toy." He ripped his arm free of David's grip and was about to turn and walk away when he spotted his girlfriend obviously coming up to talk to them. He wiped under his eyes, bringing himself together to brace an empty smile at the girl. He shook her hand. He'd always be pleasant, no matter what.
"What a pleasure to meet you." He brought her hand up to his lips for a gentle kiss, before dropping it at her side. "If you'll excuse me, I really must go. I'm late for sound check. Hope you're staying for the concert." He gave a wave, walking back to meet up with the boys so they could get to the arena. When had he gotten so good at pretending?
