Life is Different on Sea

He smiled as they boarded the ship. “I think General Iroh, or General would be safest. I don’t want anyone thinking I give you special treatment because you’re friends with the Avatar.” He smiled at the wide eye’d bender. “But if it’s just us, Iroh will do.”

As they walked through the second deck Iroh remembered what it was like, leaving home to join the forces. It had been exciting and terrifying all at once.

"So do you want to go up on deck and say goodbye to Republic City? It’ll probably be the last time you see the place in at least 8 months."

Bolin nodded taking a mental note. Here was was just Bolin another guy from the city. Not the avatar's friend or the brother of a police. Just Bolin. No more special treatment and he was honestly all okay with that more then he knew. Following Iroh again he nodded. "Just General. Got it." He said more so to himself as he looked about. The ship seemed bigger the more they walked around it. 

"Uh yes please! This will be the first time I've been away for so long. Lived here all my life. Will it really be right months before we come back? Are we gonna run out of food? Are we gonna die out there?"

"Don’t feel bad. Most people are." He seemed proud of that assertion, flipping his hair back. "But perhaps, if you really want to understand… you can try bending that piece of metal I have lying around. See what comes up."

He was being awfully generous, but he figured the poor soul needed some enlightenment. And what better way than to try it yourself?

"Uhh I don't think you got the memo..." He said with a soft frown looking to the metal that he was talking about before back to the boy. "I can't bend metal like you guys.."
