A/N : a small continuation of my HC's for her because this au takes over my head on the daily
"just do it." Abby sits on a stool in her bathroom. you stand behind her nervously holding the brush that came with the kit. plastic gloves sticking to your palms. "did you do it yet?" she peeked an eye open. looking at herself in the mirror. you behind her standing like you were being held at gunpoint.
"aren't we supposed to section it?" you said setting the bowl down. abby had pretty thick hair. you guys had halfway finished one YouTube tutorial before running to the nearest drugstore and getting black box dye.
"I think so.." She said sheepishly of course you both did this on a whim. abby was holding half of her hair up in a bun.
"no turning back." you picked the bowl back up. grabbing a small amount of hair and brushing on the dye. Abby winced like it had physically hurt her. you continued, getting some of the dye on her neck and the towel that shed wrapped around her shoulders.
and you kept on like that. brushing the color through her hair. eventually putting on some music. when abby looked up from her phone half of her hair was black.
"holy fuck" She stared at herself in the mirror. deciding wether or not she hated it. you just kept going. singing along to the iron maiden song.
"it looks good." You reassured. "it fits your vibe Abs. all you need now is your eyeliner and some jewelry" you kept going, making sure everything was dyed.
"no turning back." She whispered to herself, taking in the new look.
"we have to let it set." You see the hesitance in her eyes. "what afraid yours dad's gonna revoke his permission?" you laughed softly, then you saw the horror in her eyes.
"you did ask him," you asked in horror. "right abby?" staring at her with wide eyes. she stares right back, matching your look of fear.
a meek, "I forgot.." left her lips.
shit.
Abby frantically, opened her dad's contact page. facetiming him, her camera to the ceiling. He answered, half of a homemade sandwich in his mouth.
"hey baby, everything okay?" he says propping his phone up, on his lunch break.
"yeah, just uh, promise not to be mad." she slowly panned the phone down. unrinsed black hair, you behind her looking guilty. holding the bowl of color. his eyes wide, an unsure look on his face.
"its not done." you blurted, you could tell he held in a laugh just then. abby let out a sigh when he didnt look upset.
"Do you like it abby?" He asked, taking another bite of his sandwich.
she nodded, "yes- yeah I do," She chewed at her lip until you nudges her. "that's all we needed thanks dad, bye." abby said in a quick succession and hung up before her dad could get a word in.
she hand flew to her mouth as she laughed, trying you hold it in. you joined after a moment, just laughing. together.
"wait I kinda rock it." she posed, checking herself out in the mirror. shaking her now blowdried hair out.
"so you like it?" you grinned from the doorway. it was cute to see her so excited.
"imagine how much cooler ill look at concerts." she smiled dorkishly.
you rolled your eyes, letting her take in her new look.
"I look great."
A/N: idk if the jerry (Abbys dad) dialogue makes sense. we don't see a ton of his character, also I have no dad to reference in my own experiences.
