Reason to Live #14099

I was actively suicidal for a very long time. When I came out of it, it seemed too good to be true. I still wasn’t quite processing that I had a future. Then, the day that I had pinned as the day I would commit came. And it went. And I was alive. And it was then that I realized: my cousin is getting married this Spring. I get to go to her wedding. I get to go to her wedding! And if she has kids, I’ll get to meet them. I may get to meet her children!! I will get to move out and go to university! I will get to get a job! I will get to get a degree! I will get to live in a different city! I will get to buy my own house, and furnish it myself, and decorate it however I want. And, as I was walking in the halls of my school, I started crying. Because someday, I get to have kids. I get to do that. It’s been literal years since I thought I could possibly make it that far. But I get to have kids, and pick out beautiful names, and raise them with love, and care, and I get to care for them if they ever get to where I am now. My entire life is unfolding before me. I get that. I get it all. And I will never let myself loose it again.
