a glimpse at his blank expression, bloated cheeks, or maybe the dowdy chopped locks of black hair could tell anyone he had just woken up, and not by his own will ── the purple blotches resting under his eyes? a sign he didn’t arrive home anytime before five in the morning. or that the previous night had been... an eventful one. in this case, however, it was a clear case of having hit jackpot, the missing pieces in his memoirs from the past hours hand in hand with the pounding headache that kept his shared flat in an immaculate gloom, not daring to turn on a single light, courtains kept pushed together. his eyes were fixed on her, lazy and half-lidded, his head lightly tilted down, not receptive enough to catch up with her actions, or the words spilling down the brims of her lips. god, what the fuck. he couldn’t barely stand on his feet, much less try and attempt to keep up with her inhumane and endless energy.
he blinked a few times, eyebrows knitting close together in annoyance and eyes shutting close, his slender digits pinching the bridge of his nose. “woohee, shut up for a second.” his voice was husky, the few hours of sleep and the aftermath of innumerable glasses of alcohol lingering on his vocal chords, straining his throat and damaging his voice. “it’s──” he spoke again, halting his words at the realization he didn’t quite have the answer. “i don’t know what time it is, nor the day, i haven’t checked my phone, but i do know that it’s too fucking early and that i’m in need of a shower. and twelve hours of sleep.” his right eyebrow was raised and his eyes were on her once again, features as expressionless as they originally were. zooming out a bit, he shook his head just to regret it instantly, a grimace distorting his face the effect of the headache pinching his temples. a muttered ‘i’m going to punch myself’ could be heard gritted between his teeth, palms rubbing through his cheeks and hair, tugging softly at the strands. he ended up resting his frame against the wall, allowing his head to fall back onto it and his eyes to close. it wasn’t know if it had been seconds or minutes until he spoke again, but there was a momentary silence between them until he let the words out. “you’re paying for my coffee.” his eyes flickered up and down her petite figure, letting out a deep exhale before walking inside his house, fingers threading through his hair. “take your shoes off before walking any further, jiae will rip my head off if anyone uses shoes inside the house.” he explained, images of his roommate chasing him for doing exactly that flashing through his mind. “i’m going to get ready, serve yourself? there’s not much around.” and with that, he proceeded to do his ─daily?─ morning routine, not without wanting to punch himself into oblivion.
