While expecting him to play along, what catches her off-guard is when he pulls out the charm even going so far as to touch her ( though it’s only her hair ) and act overly familiar. Usually, it’s her to be the one to initiate these things, so color her surprised that he has the gall to do something so bold! Not that she’s complaining, as she manages to compose herself enough to feign familiarity as if this were something that was usual for the both of them.
The threat of being shot at doesn’t please the man watching the both of them intently, in fact, there’s a look of vague fear that crosses his face as Billy threatens to shoot him if he were to interfere. While he’d chased her this far if she had someone like this boy at her side maybe it wasn’t worth it after all. And though Billy is definitely not one to look threatening at first, he had managed to put the fear of certain death into this man, who shakes his head before ducking back around the corner. He’s gone, given up the chase for now.
Suzuka, meanwhile, breathes a sigh of relief. That could have gone much worse than she’d anticipated. “Uhm…thanks, Billy-kun. I know it was sudden and probably out of nowhere, but thank you, really!” She hadn’t seen him in person, after all, just sent him a funny text. Yet here she was expecting him to play along. “You really meant it though, right? A second date?” She’d never gotten past the first with anyone. “I chose last time technically so like, you can this time around!”
“Eh--? Ah... Sure. Guess since we’re here now and I don’t really have anything to do, it won’t hurt, right?” Though unexpected, it’s hardly unpleasant. Being caught off guard is something an outlaw has to get used to, no matter whether it’s sheriffs and bounty hunters going after him, or a cute girl asking for a date. There’s a few places to consider, but a quick reminder brings him to check his phone for the hour and... -- yes. They’re just in time. “Alright. Come with me for a bit, ‘kay? It’s a surprise.”
The unfortunate part of it is that there wouldn’t be time to dress up, at least not without spoiling the surprise. But guiding both through alleyways and hidden passages as the sun finishes setting takes such worries out of his mind, and as the pair draws closer to the destination, a lively sound starts breaking the silence. There are lights into the distance, peeking through the many bamboos around them. Once they are close enough, then, the scenery opens up to reveal a small, friendly festival, much reminiscent of summer.
“Ohhh, so it does exist. Thank God... I was worried the rumor was all a made up lie and I ended up draggin' you nowhere.”
“The truth’s that a few folk I play with were talking about a secret youkai festival that was going to happen hidden in the Cotes Ward. It’s kinda out of the season, but I guess they like the festivities humans make a bit too much.” Summer has just ended, after all, but figures youkai wouldn’t quite care.
Billy dematerializes some of his clothing; the hat, jacket, scarf and waistcoat are hardly fitting. He is human, no less, no cute fox ears or tail to blend him well with the crowd as would be Suzuka’s case, clothing aside. With them being the only ( known ) infiltrators to the small festival, something about it feels quite personal. Intimate, even, but it’s appropriate. “Alright~! There’s a lot of booths to visit and things to do.” With a friendly smile on his face and an excited demeanor, the outlaw reaches for the fox’s hand, entwining their fingers rather casually. “Anywhere you want to go first? We have all night.”
