Do You Believe in Pure Evil?
** Do I believe that pure evil exists? No, I don't believe pure evil exists but I do believe that one can be evil if they have with-gone something that triggered it or they are to get something out of the evil deed. I do, however, think that every human has good within them, whether they think they do or not because they had to have been born ‘good’. In the book, “A Long Way Gone,” the ‘Rebels’ were not all born evil, they had something that triggered the negative and that they thought they would get something out of starting a Civil War among Sierra Leone. Between the leaders of the Rebel gang, they tricked thousands of boys to commit unimaginable crimes by drugging them, desensitizing, and harassing them. Would I say that these leaders are evil? Yes, but I would also say that they aren't truly evil. They had a choice. They had to have been quite angry and went through something that would have triggered these feelings to turn against their own country. Pure evil doesn't exist in everyone. Evil has to be found within someone where it hasn't always existed. **
