I made a few posts that got some traction on twitter about how Gabi keeps referring to Nico with the new nickname of “papi” and for *me* it’s very normalized thing to call anyone (in hispanic latin countries you will call a random man papi no matter his age it’s really just about being friendly and approachable).

But all the Brazilians in the replies and quotes have told me that it’s absolutely not a normal thing to say in Brazil outside of like…. a porno… which was extremely enlightening. Gabriel hasn’t been able to fuck that old man he’s decided on dropping the most obvious hints and I think Nico is just not falling for it which makes their interactions a million times funnier.

I saw a comment saying not all hispanic latin american countries use ‘papi’ frequently so i’m coming back to say just hispanic Central American countries and hispanic Caribbean countries use papi/mami a lot to refer to others in a friendly way since this is the demographic i’m around the most, apologies lol
