Assignment 16: Post Final Version Video
Assignment 15: Video Progress Report
I have about 75% of my video shot and have started editing the footage I have. I also already have all of my sound effects done. I need to shoot a couple more shots that I already have thought of to add to my video. My storyline is about a cardboard box that has different objects coming out of it and each of them use a different sound effect that I have previously recorded.
Tech culture: Option X (Review an art exhibition or event)
I went to the Cranbrook Art Museum and one piece that I saw there was piece there by Annabeth Rosen titled Lumpen Studies. This was favorite piece that I saw at this museum because there were 36 different pieces that made up one large work. They evoke strong emotions of mystery and hidden meaning to me because of their candlestick and dripping wax like shapes. I enjoyed that you had to get closer and inspect each piece of paper to see what this work as really about. Then, taking a step backwards to see everything become one adds another effect to this piece.

A 6 second recording of the shower running
Shaking change
7 second recording of me shaking a couple of coins in my hand
Scraping plastic
11 second recording of my finger nails scraping a plastic part of my car
Playing with change
9 second recording of me playing with change in a plastic cup
Nails tapping on window
10 second recording of my finger nails tapping on a window
Car running

Car fabrics
7 second recording of finger nails scraping against a car fabric
Assignment 14: Final Video Idea and Strategy
My final video idea is going to revolve around a cardboard box. It is going to make different noises, have different things come out of it and different designs displayed on it. I will accomplish this by attaching thread to the sides of the box so I can move it without being in frame and also movement with the camera. I also want to use different angles and colors of light sources to change the view and keep interest.
Assignment 13: Video Ideas
Center of piece is a cardboard box that uses the different sound elements and opens and closes to revel different things
A sculpture-looking piece made up of many different random elements that when moving to a different angle, reveals a recognizable object
Set up a room with multiple focal points and see what I can make into a recognizable storyline
Tech Culture post (option A): Sharing
The pros of sharing your works-in-progress and ideas online are being able to collaborate with others and share ideas and viewpoints that might not have been thought of before then. A con is definitely having your posts and ideas out on the internet becoming a big issue if you no longer want them to be shared. The Tumblr Content and Subscriber content states this in a great way when they say, “one thing you should consider before posting: When you make something publicly available on the Internet, it becomes practically impossible to take down all copies of it”. Sharing and over sharing all the time even takes a toll on our culture. Like Steven Johnson says, there is a problem with people becoming “overwhelmed with an always connected, multi-tasking lifestyle.” People have now grown to feel that they need to be connected, talking and sharing their life every second of the day.
The potential rewards of putting out work that is unfinished is having collaborating with other to help solve the problem faster. A hazard of this is your unfinished idea always being out there for people to see and comment on. I do not like strangers giving me feedback unless I specifically ask for it. Sometimes people do not want or do not need to hear other peoples opinions. You can prepare for negative responses, but that doesn't mean hearing them won’t still be painful.
