you don't know how long you had been pacing for. thirty minutes? an hour? it had been three hours since you had sent joe your address, so had it been three hours of pacing around? your apartment suddenly feels too small for all the thoughts crowding your head. every creak of the floorboards, made by your pacing, sounds like footsteps outside your front door. you check your phone again, even though you know there aren't any new messages, just your last response to joe's message of him being on his way in a few hours.
then, theres three soft knocks at your door and you know its joe. your pacing stops and you head towards the door. as you open the door, you see joe standing there. beanie on his head, his hands tucked away in his pockets with a small smile on his face. even though he's smiling you can tell he's nervous. and before either of you can say anything, the memory of joe talking so sweet about you in his interview with the biggest smile on his face, like there wasn't no text war, comes flooding into your head.
you dont realize the way your eyes filled with tears until you feel one slip down your cheek. "hey." joe says, worriedly. you wipe it away quickly and shake your head, moving to the side to let joe in. as you close the door and lock it, your hand lingers on the lock for a moment and you feel a new wave of tears overcome you. "fuck." you mumble to yourself. a warm hand then comes up to your shoulder and and gently spins you around. "oh, c'mere." he says, bringing an arm around your shoulders while the other cradles the back of your head. "im sorry." you say against his chest as you grip the front of his jacket.
you continue to cry into his chest, spilling out apologies as joe rubs your back. "im sorry, joe." you pull your head back and sniff. "hey... stop apologizing." her says but you shake your head. "you shouldn't even be here." you say, not registering what you're saying. "what?" he says with a hurt look on his face. "i mean... i was so mean to you over text, joe. so mean. and i just kept pushing it and pushing it. i didnt even hear you out!" you cry.
"and then- and then you go on the podcast and speak nothing but good things about me like i didn't just blow up on you over text. you shouldn't even want to be here." you put your head back into his chest. "hey." he says, trying to get your attention and stop your rambling because none of that is true. you pull your head back out and continue. "and i didn't even let you explain yourself because i-"
"y/n."
"-was too busy yelling at you over text and being so stubborn."
"hey." you dont hear him until you feel your lips on his. his way of shutting you up and showing you that he still wants you. its slow at first, as if he's giving you a chance to pull back, but you dont. how could you? its the first time you two are kissing for the first time in months. once he realizes you arent pulling away, he deepens it, as both of his hands come up to cup your face.
after some time, you two slowly pull away. "are you done now?" he says, wiping away one of your stray tears. "...maybe." he chuckles at that. you notice you still have a strong grip on his jacket and immediately loosen it. "sorry." you says. "andd, there you go again." he teases. "sorr- oh my god." you groan and hide back in his chest. for a quiet moment, he presses small kisses into your hair until you pull back from hiding. "can we talk now?" you nudge your head towards the couch. "of course."
after a very long conversation, with more tears from both of you, and catching up. you and joe both decided that you two still want to be in each others lives and decide to give your relationship one more go.
hai guys! sooo... it's a really big week for me (harry release week) and i have sm going on so that means it'll be a while until i post part 5 of ogiwicdy but i promise it won't be a while... maybe next week! but i will try and get it out asap!
love the smau. yn is acting mad weird tho cuz yeah girl it does actually seem like you donβt want it to work out, actually. therapy for yn, thatβs my campaign promise
