My Community Internship Experience with TRY NGO
June 30, 2026
Excited to share my community internship experience with TRY NGO! This journey helped me understand social issues, connect with communities, and learn valuable lessons about empathy, teamwork, and social responsibility. Grateful for this meaningful experience.
Introduction
My name is [Khushhal Mishra], and I am a student at Amity University Noida. As part of my academic curriculum, I got the opportunity to complete my community internship with TRY NGO. This internship was not just a requirement for my studies but also an eye-opening experience for me. It allowed me to step outside my comfort zone and understand the realities of society from a closer perspective.
Before joining this internship, my understanding of social work was mostly theoretical. I knew NGOs worked for social welfare, but I had never experienced their work at the grassroots level. Through TRY NGO, I got practical exposure that changed my way of thinking.
My Experience During the Internship
During the internship, I was involved in several activities that helped me connect with the community. One of the most memorable experiences was spending time with children, interacting with them, and helping them with learning activities. These moments made me realize how important education and guidance are for their growth.
I also visited places where I observed sustainable community practices such as biogas plants and livestock care.
These visits helped me understand how rural communities use available resources to improve their livelihoods and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Along with this, I participated in teamwork-based activities where collaboration and communication played an important role. Working with other interns taught me the value of cooperation and mutual support.
What I Learned
This internship taught me many important lessons that cannot be learned inside a classroom. The biggest lesson for me was empathy. I understood that many people face struggles every day that we often overlook.
I improved my communication skills by interacting with different people and understanding their perspectives. I also learned the importance of patience and active listening.
Another important lesson was that social work is not only about helping others but also about learning from them. Every interaction with the community taught me something valuable.
Social Issues I Observed
During my internship, I observed several social issues such as lack of education, poverty, unemployment, and limited access to opportunities. These issues affect many families and make it difficult for them to improve their quality of life.
What touched me the most was seeing children who are eager to learn but do not always have enough resources. It made me realize how privileged many of us are and how important it is to support such communities.
I also saw how awareness and education can bring positive changes in people’s lives.
How This Internship Changed My Perspective
Before this internship, I thought social work was simply about helping people. But now I understand that it is much more than that. It is about understanding society, identifying problems, and working together to create solutions.
This experience changed my perspective completely. It made me more socially aware, responsible, and grateful for the opportunities I have in life.
As a student of Amity University Noida, this internship gave me practical knowledge that added great value to my academic journey.
Conclusion
Overall, my internship with TRY NGO was a meaningful and inspiring journey.
It gave me the opportunity to learn, connect with people, and understand society in a much deeper way.
This experience helped me grow not only as a student but also as a person. I will always be grateful for this opportunity and the lessons it taught me. It has motivated me to stay connected with social work and contribute towards building a better society.
