“And it’s cheap. That’s always something I have to consider. Want a ride?”
“Cheap. Love that part. I’m not sure how far the closest Denny’s, so yeah. A ride sounds really nice.”

“And it’s cheap. That’s always something I have to consider. Want a ride?”
“Cheap. Love that part. I’m not sure how far the closest Denny’s, so yeah. A ride sounds really nice.”
the-literal-destroyer:
Drax’s eyes widened “You mean you’re not a robot?”
“...No.”
bcngrimm:
“What? It’s a versatile word. Could mean fun fun— or fun fun. Keeps some of that mystery.”
“I don’t know if it’s as versatile as you’re trying to stretch it to, but sure. How fun. I’m Cessily, by the way.”
bdeeds:
“Oh– OH GOD- I am so sorry, shit shit shit!” Ben spun around, facing away from the other mutant as she made herself decent, eyes squeezed shut even though he still had no possible way of seeing her with them open, “I wasn’t gonna fully shift, I promise. Scout’s honor–” Ben held up three fingers in the familiar salute before finally opening his eyes again.
“You uh– you decent?”
A laugh escaped her chest as Cessily quickly grabbed her sweatshirt and pulled it over her head. Tugging on some athletic shorts as well, she waited a moment before beginning to gather her hair up in a ponytail. “You’re good to go, Bashful. It’s fine. I used to be way more embarrassed about the whole I can’t go liquid without losing my clothes but I’ve had to get over that some. Little choice, right?”
magnetiik:
“The gathering yesterday at the Facility was utterly useless and overdramatic.”
“At least they invited mutants.”
tribusfrost:
“The fate of the world rests in the hands of a group that fights itself.” “And people wonder why we have trust issues.” “Hello, doomsday.”
“Now’s not the best time to be blaming the people we’re supposed to be working with.”
mastermindiing:
“PSA: Not every blonde mutant is Emma Frost or the bitchy triplets. Thanks.”
“Yeah, no offense, but you aren’t great either...”
c-yxlops:
“Yeah, I did leave the X-men. Gives Jean her time to shine.”
“Weird introduction, but congratulations.”
matchxstick:
Ben raised an eyebrow, glancing between the charred remains of the flowers and his metallic date before deciding to bow and present the flowers to Cessily with a goofy flourish, “Milady–”
Standing up once more to offer Cessily his arm, Ben grinned as he turned to gesture to the car nearby, “Your carriage awaits.” He couldn’t help but take in every aspect of her appearance in the brief moment as he assumed she was glancing over at their ride.
“You– you look amazing. Oh– and do not think I’m gonna forget about that time you tried to convince me you were actually a princess. How’s the fake fiancé doing by the way?”
“Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.” She took them, quickly raising the burned stalks to her nose to smell. “How did you know I love charcoal?” The sudden rush of oxygen up her nostrils felt strange and forced. The act of breathing was one Cessily forgot about too often. Her metallic body didn’t need it and swallowing down tasteless chunks of food was for everyone else as much as it was for her. It looked normal, but it didn’t feel normal.
Quickly stowing them on her dresser, she returned to take his arm with her metal one. As they moved outside Cessily felt the wind brush over her skin. There was little sensation other than that. Not hot. Not cold. She couldn’t feel either. There was just sensation and the absence of something.
“Amazing?” She couldn’t help but feel a little surprised. “You look pretty hot yourself. And yeah, of course I remember that because it’s true. American princess Cessily Kincaid, right here. Unfortunately the fiancee and I had to break it off. I kinda got into someone else and it wasn’t fair to him.”
quake-n-shake:
Daisy glanced down at her hands for a moment, remembering how terrified she was when her powers first appeared. People didn’t see how she was different, they felt it. And she could only think of a few Inhumans who had changes in appearances. “Well, people need to get their heads out of their asses if you ask me.” She tucked her hands into her pockets as she answered. “You rock the metallic look.”
“That would definitely make things easier, but I’m not holding my breath.” As much as it sucked, Cessily hadn’t almost gotten used to the stares. She had seen the way that human eyes followed her and because of that Cessily had found it easier to stay away from the public. Maybe one day they’d be accepting but Purifiers and Reavers made it hard to justify most casual outings. “You think?” She asked, eyes darting up. “I hope so.”
magnetiik:
“What else have you heard?”
“They want to try her? For the crimes of the Phoenix, I think.”
magnetiik:
“Everyone has their weakness. But if you do not do anything to warrant action from me, then you should not have to worry.”
“Uh, got it. Don’t piss off Magneto and he won’t throw you around like a rag doll.”
bcngrimm:
“Right– aren’t we a fun bunch.”
“Is that the word we’re going with? Sure. We’re super fun.”
m-imic:
“With great power comes great responsibility, or so I’ve heard.”
“I didn’t think the Hellfire Club knew much about responsibility.”
agent-flash-venom:
“I’m sure he’ll be proud.” something Flash could never relate to.
“Yeah, I think that ship sailed the second I turned silver.” She held up a metallic hand. “So that’s a lost cause.”
the-literal-destroyer:
“And no one has been able to claim total victory. No body is strong enough, or not willing to do what it takes. Have you heard of mutants? They are far more powerful than the dominant species and yet their suppressed, a bunch of cowards.”
“You’re right, weirdly enough. But, um, I’m a mutant. Clearly.” Cessily pointed towards her silver skin. “You see this? Mutation. We’re not cowards. We just have a lot going on.”
tommy-speedherd:
“I’m a saint, I know.” He replied just before disappearing. “Only place that i can afford over here is Denny’s.” Tommy said annoyed as he zoomed back in, a slight scorch mark where he stopped.”
“Denny’s? Sounds perfect. It’s nice and low profile. That’s always something I have to consider.”
