It’s been several years since I have completed a half. 2:09. My second best. Still a ways off from the elusive two hours but not a bad race. I’m sore.
The best thing about today’s race is that I competed it 65 lighter than I was 18 months ago.

Hi folks. Still here. Still running slow and steady indoors on a treadmill. Training for a half-marathon in four weeks.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
Running Poos
Does anyone else suffer from gastrointestinal issues whenever you run? Be it three miles, six, or thirteen, I end with pain and multiple trips to the restroom. Immodium helps in the moment but seems to only delay the inevitable. Is there a pill or food I am missing to avoid this nonsense? It seems to get worse as I lose more weight.
HELP!
A great 3 mile run. 27:21 time. 9:07 pace.
Something about the Chicago Marathon gets me motivated to run!
On another note- does anyone else have gastrointestinal issues whenever they run? Whether five minutes or a half-marathon I am messed up for hours or days. Immodium seems to be my savior.
It’s been a while since I’ve updated my weight.
At Memorial Day I was at 214.1. I’m down another 7.5. The loss has definitely slowed but it’s been consistent. I’m down a total of 55.1 since starting at the end of October. My goal is to get under 200 so 6.7 pounds to go.
Today’s workout was a 3 mile run.
27:18 -9:06 pace. I am consistently running my short runs at this pace. Now I need to work on adding miles and building a higher base at a faster pace. Half marathon in April.
Opted for the treadmill tonight.
3 miles
27:25
9:09 pace
Slowly getting there.
Felt good to run outside tonight! Perfect weather in St. Louis!
Hey, folks. It’s been a while! I’m still here and kicking.
3 miles tonight. 27:43. 9:15 pace.
3 miles 30:22 minutes 10:07 pace
3 miles 30:26 minutes 10:09 pace Followed by lots of push-ups.
3 miles 30:49 minutes 10:13 pace This is the unflattering face of someone who enjoyed too much bourbon the past three nights and then attempted to workout this morning 😬 Now off to the pool.
Happy Memorial Day! I've been doing some things friends. Successfully defended my dissertation with the two wonderful women in the first picture. It was a rough few final weeks but we pulled it off. I graduated with my doctorate from the number one program in my field in the nation. Many of you were a part of that journey since the application process began five years ago. And as of this morning's weigh-in I am at 214.1 pounds. I've lost 47.6 pounds since recommitting to being healthy at the end of October. I'm the lowest I've been since early high school and feel amazing. I'm nearing my goal weight and letting my body guide me at this point. Not a bad way to start year #40!
Was a busy weekend. My last class weekend in Nashville. 49 visits. Only my defense and then graduation remain. Pic with my housemates and best friends I've developed the past three years. Took a nice run around the Parthenon. My phone died right after the pic so there was no music and timing. It was a bit liberating. One of our favorite professors had us out to their farm for an amazing meal. Also showed us that a Faith Hill video was filmed there a few years back. There may have been a cupcake out of an ATM. Then best of all, I return home to my amazing wife and kids who support all of my shenanigans unconditionally. Spring break this week. Lots of data analysis and writing Tonight's run: 3 miles 29:56 minutes 9:59 pace
Weigh-in Sunday
Down another 2.6 last week bringing me to 38.5 total since October 31!
My first goal is 220 and I think I should reach that by the start of May.
Stats?
Any of my tumblr peeps a stats person? Related to social science research?
I could use some guidance. Shouldn’t take too much time. I will happily compensate you or thank you somehow. Send me a message or a name of someone else you may know.
Thanks in advance!
Weigh-in Monday
Down 2 pounds this week bringing me to 35.9 lost since October 31!
