It’s easy to see where Slow Damage took after Togainu no Chi, DRAMAtical Murder and even Sweet Pool. 

On the other hand, the way it takes after Lamento is a bit more subtle. One good example is how both visual novels begin with a quote that turns out to be connected to the main villain.

20XX. Japan.

In order to break out of the severe recession, a special administrative ward,“Shinkoumi”, was developed as Japan’s major Casino Resort.

This place, which formerly belonged to The Tokyo Bay No. 13 - a subregion in the city’s center - has actually always had a constant influx of profits despite being in the midst of a recession, and the management group of the casino, Takasato, resides here as if ruling the country. As the uncertainties of the recession continue, the people gather at Shinkoumi without a care of what will come tomorrow but only dreaming of getting rich quick or beating the blues.

The peace and order of the city is deeply disturbed with mobs of people, corruption hangs in the air everywhere like a shadow, and crime is great and frequent.

The main character, Towa, lives in this city, mooching off his old friend Taku, a doctor working in a hospital, and living a degraded life in the moment without thinking of the days to come.

Towa has an interest: “Drawing what people desire”.

He oil paints with the intention of producing buried desires that are bursting to come out from deep within people’s hearts. He takes in those desires and lays it down on paper with a paintbrush.

His pen name is “euphoria”.

It doesn’t matter even if his opponent and himself undertake a fatal wound as a result of those desires being fulfilled. 

Because to his opponent that is “happiness”…

vampire-san from the slow damage demo!! i REALLY hope my speculations that hes the fifth route are confirmed, im super duper interested in him as a character and how a romance between him and towa would play out... he seems so sweet and so sad and i need to know more about him immediately!! im fairly certain one of the nsft cgs in the opening pv is of him, so that holds high hopes! but i mean, knowing nitro+chiral, just cause he fucks towa doesnt mean hes a love interest, and definitely doesn't mean he has a good ending... but i really hope all this focus on him is for good reason! i literally cannot wait to find out more!!

I just switched to dmmd and nitrochiral decided to bombard us with Slow Damage. The character previews, VAs, manga, Trial version and sneak peaks from monthly live stream.

This is it. I'm gonna talk about Slow Damage all day until next year sorry for new followers who want to see more dmmd contents. I'll return to dmmd again after this. Also blaming the company btw.

Saaaame I've been thinking about Towa a lot lately. We still have no clue how the story and his development go.
