NIGHTCRAWLER TAIL TUTORIAL
Ever since I posted my most recent video of my Nightcrawler tail, my inbox has been filled with a bunch of miscellaneous questions of how I made it.
SO I just decided to give you guys a quick rundown with the WIP photos Iāve taken so far. Please feel free to use this method for your own cosplays, because the results are really amazing!! This can be used to make any type of moving tail, just edit the pattern to your liking!!
I loosely followed this tutorial, so credit for the original idea goes to him!! Between his and my tutorial, this way of making an articulated tail should be pretty clear :D
Supplies: -Paper -1 Craft foam board -X-Acto knife -Denim or some type of non-stretch sturdy fabric -Thick upholstery foam -Scissors -4-way stretch fabric

1) DIGITAL PLANNING
OKAY SO I started out with a digital pattern that I drew myself. I know I wanted it to be very long, so I made it as long as I thought possible without it dragging. IF IT DRAGS, YOUR TAIL WILL NOT SWAY. ALSO make sure your tail is horizontal to your body. If it goes vertical at any point, it will not sway with gravity. Please donāt make that mistake!!
Be sure to number your pieces!! Itāll save you a lot of tears later LOL Then cut apart each number box digitally, and place them onto separate document. Hereās exactly what my documents looked like:

I recently got the playable comic for the board game nemesis (playable as in it tells you how to set up a game to play along with the story in it) and i get to the end with the art. I'm looking at one of the characters and notice a QR code on their shirt. So i scanned it thinking it would lead to their website. Took me 20 for my phone to focus, but I finally got it to scan... I have new found respect for them... I spent 20 minutes just to get Rick Rolled.

Ancient Outsiders, The QualāAth Rise again!
So I been gone a while guys! (You can skip this part if you want) Long story short, i lost a lot of motivation after the big blowup earlier this year, and on top of that, one of my longest running Works In Progress - the Arcanist/Alchemancer/Spellcrafter - finally reached a point where I had to admit it couldnāt be done properly in 5e (at least not the way I envisioned it). My moral has been shot, and Iāve fallen behind. It took me way too long to finally send out the stickers I promised my patrons, and I havenāt put out anything new in way too long, despite months of work poured into a now defunct project. So this last week, I decided to shift gears. I took a fresh look at my to-do list, took the advice of some good friends, and hopped back into the saddle to give my own take on something I have always enjoyed imagining: The Illithid! Now onto the Good Stuff!
Illithid have always fascinated me, not just as enemies and monsters, but as a properly unique alien race. Reading further and further into their lore though, something always bothered me: No one knew where they came from. In every account I have seen, illithid history seems to start with āthey were once a mighty empireā, but there is little to nothing in the way of explanations as to how they got there. Even extra dimensional beings have some sort of origin, and an empire does not simply build itself overnight. I was also always curious what it might look like from the other side.Ā As horrendous as their actions may be to us, it seemed interesting to ponder the culture and society of a race so far removed from the world we know.
To this end, I tried to⦠fill in some gaps. I tried to imagine the type of conditions in which an organism like the illithid might have evolved, and I thought it would be interesting to play with different ways that an illithid like creature might interact with theirs host, beyond just eating their brain and taking over. I imagined Illithid themselves as a dominant subspecies or faction of a much more extensive race, and to any fellow fans of the series Stargate, it will be clear that I took a great deal of inspiration from the Gaoāuld race as well as their counterparts in the TokāRa.Ā Ā

The Necroficer is my unique take on the idea of a Necromancer. Rather than relying on spell-casting and summoning, the Necroficer is built around the idea of crafting unique undead monsters that fight by your side. The Goal is to be More of a āFrankenstein Meets the Reanimatorā than Classic Death-centered Mage. If that sounds interesting Please take a look!

Working on Some major Edits for My Necroficer currently. Reworking the Flesh-Sculptor subclass to play better with itself, Horrors no longer attack allies unprovoked, and a number of new Defilements!
Sooo, does anyone else think familiars are a little lackluster in 5e? Cause I know I certainly think that.
One of the few things that 4e did right was familiars. Your choice of familiar felt important and getting access to a new familiar was exciting and could be cooler than getting a new magic item in a lot of cases. Thats, uh, not so much true in 5e. This is a rough idea of a system I want to try out to make having a familiar more special and to make it a more enticing option for spell casters and, imagine this, possibly making a scroll of find familiar a really special magic item to find as loot. Still needs to get balanced and the options need to be filled out a bit more, but this is a proof of concept.Ā āYou get the idea.ā, right?

Fear not, the Afflicted Vampire (2.0)
(and some Blood Magic Feats)
So A while back, I took a stab at my own take on vampires. In my personal campaign setting, vampirism is more a blood disease than a curse, and I wanted something that really highlighted that, focusing on the relative frailty of a creature who must feed on blood and flee the sunlight to live, rather than on the magical or physical power of an immortal undead. The good news, is that I accomplished that. The bad news was that I did so a little too well. My original take on the Afflicted Vampire had more downsides that upsides, and all things said and done, was less powerful than a standard human. So I wanted to find a way to balance that out, without just making my vampires bog-standard immortal creatures of the night. After some talk with players, and more thought into the exact origin of vampires in Aetheros, I decided that the best way to do this would be to give vampires a natural affinity for blood magic. So this updated version of My vampire race includes two Blood Feats, which vampire characters can choose from. One highlighting the ferocity and violent impulses the afflicted fight to control, and the other focusing on the dark magic that runs through their tainted blood. These feats are not limited to Vampires, but vampires do gain access to one for free, regardless of prerequisites As usual, the preview here is low resolution, and probably out of date. Space! Aliens! Living Gas! Iām too sick to be Clever!
Say Hello to the Auroros!
So I was all set to write up a whole thing about the distinction between fantasy and Sci-fi, and why, even in DND, I consider myself a Science-fiction author. But itās been two weeks, and Iām still sick, so lets save that for another time.
Iām always on the lookout for interesting ideas, and with my campaign setting slowly expanding beyond the prime world of the material plane (Terra), Iāve started trying to imagine what sortof life might exist beyond the stars. Iām not sure how many people understand how hard it is to imagine aliens in a fantasy setting where players routinely battle sentient eyeball monsters and giant fire-breathing lizards with wings, but let me tell you: it isnāt easy. Pretty much any strange alien creature you might expect to find in a sci-fi show has a similar equivalent that already exists in dnd - even if it hasnāt been ported to 5e yet.
But the thing that has always struck me about alien life is that if it exists (and by shear probability alone, it must), it is bound to be so different from what we find on our own planet that we may not even recognize it as life at all. I wanted to try and exemplify that as my campaign setting expanded into space, by making alien life as exotic as possible. But this creates itās own problems. When a race become so strange and inhuman, it becomes difficult to model it in 5e without breaking the game. Extra limbs, the ability to move through solid objects, unique senses that are not found in other more Terrestial races - All of these things have the potential to greatly imbalance an alien race, which makes building a playable character a true balancing act of imagining not just what special powers these aliens might have, but also what abilities they might not.
One way I have opted to do this is to imagine that in my Campaign setting, magic is a force mostly unique to Terrestrial life. While aline races may have the ability to change their shape, fly amongst the clouds, or manifest powerful psionic forces, they are at a complete loss when encountering magic. To most of these races, magic is a completely alien technology - something they have difficulty even beginning to understand, and by extension, something they often fear.
But enough of my rambling. Itās late, Iām sick, and I really need to sleep. Iāll See you all in the stars. Or something. Iām too sick to be clever right now.
