Pairing: Wooseok x Reader
He was standing near his locker, and unfraternally you had to pass him to get to your own. You had no extra energy for his rude comments today, and you knew he could tell you were not in the mood just by looking at you, and that made it even easier for him to make a comment.
You walked with you head down, trying to pass him without him seeing you, but right when you passed him you heard his voice.
“Ey, Y/N. Do you have any insults for me today?” He smirked while laughing, and glanced over at the other boys who stood with him. You stopped and tried so hard to ignore him before you started walking again. Before you knew it, he straightened out his leg so you fell, but ten centimeters before you hit the floor he caught you. You met his eyes, and he was still smirking, and he let out a small laugh.
“You need to be more careful.” The other boys behind him laughed, and you wiggled yourself out of his embrace, pushed him of you and jogged over to your locker.
You hated him. He normally did this to a lot of people, but you had no idea why you were one of his targets. You had never done anything to him. He had always been like this, since he moved here 2 years ago. And it wasn’t only at school, he acted like this in public places too.
And the boys he hung out with were not different form him either. He seemed like the group leader, and the other boys just did what he did because they thought it was cool. You and Kino were best friends before Wooseok came around, and he totally changed when they started hanging out.
Only one period left, then you could go home and forget all about them. You walked to the classroom and sat down on your usual spot. You felt like the class was never going to end, but you pulled through, and the bell rang. You gathered your things, put them in your backpack and got out as fast as you could. Walking out of the school, and on your usual route home.
You walked for a solid 10 minutes before someone touched your shoulder. You knew how it was and you kept walking.
“What’s wrong with you today? You haven’t said anything to me all day. Usually when I do something you answer with an insult or something.” He still had his hand on your shoulder and you could feel the smile he had glued on his face.
“Don’t.” You moved your shoulder to get his hand off you. He removed it and walked behind you.
“C’mon. You know you want to say something.” You stopped, and turned around to face him. You meet his gaze and both of you just stood there. You stared into his eyes with anger, but it did not seem to affect him. Finally, you got the urge to speak.
“Like what?” He laughed and put his hands in the back pockets of his jeans.
“Why are you targeting me? What have I ever done to you?”
“You haven’t done anything, I just think it’s fun.” He laughed a little.
“Well, for me it’s not fun, so please find another person to play your little games with.” You turned around and started walking again, not even caring if he was following you. He just stood there, not expecting you to ever have the urge to tell him to stop.
When you came home the first thing you did was lay down on your bed to relaxed. You laid there for ten minutes before you took up your phone to look through your social media. You got a text, and not form anyone, but form Kino.
“Why are you talking to me?”
“Oh, can’t I talk to you now?:(”
“We stopped talking months ago Kino…”
“And that’s 100% my fault, I’m sorry.”
“Why do you always assume I want something?”
“Because that’s just how you are.”
“Well I just want to warn you if I could say it like that, I may have said some things to Wooseok that I shouldn’t have said...”
“What? Please don’t tell me you said something about us.”
“Well I did. We were talking about some stuff, and then it popped up… I told him to not say anything though.”
“I’m going to kill you tomorrow.”
You put your phone away and just laid in bed. Tomorrow is going to be hell you thought.
You found Kino in the hallway and pulled him over to your locker by his collar. When you let go of his collar he looked shocked, and he only said one thing.
“Sorry is not good enough, how could you tell him? I know your friends and everything, but that was only between us, and you know that.” And that’s how you two started arguing. It went on for 5 minutes, before you both got quiet. Both of you could see Wooseok down the hall, and you prepared yourself for the worst comments. He walked up to you slowly with the boys right behind him and stopped when they were right in front of you.
“Well, Kino is a lucky guy.” He looked directly at you.
“Wooseok, don’t.” Kino said, looking at him with serious eyes.
“What? Can’t I express that I think it’s great that you two had a wonderful time?”
You snapped. You turned around to face him, and you could one of your veins in your forehead popping.
“Can’t you tell that your making other people lives miserable? He made a mistake telling you, and it’s okay because he apologized. But you, oh you. He even told you to not say anything about it, but you still do. Your disgusting. So, if you’re his friend you would not say anything about it at all.”
You could hear the boys make sound behind him, like he got burned. He stood there, just looking at you. He made a signal for the boys to leave, and signaled to Kino that he should leave too. They all left, and there was only you two left. You wanted to go, so you started walking away, but he grabbed your wrist, and turned you towards him.
“You really want to know why I act like this?”
“Yes please, because I’m sick of it, and I know deep don you’re not like this, you onlu pick on others to make yourself seem cool.” He pulled you closer so your chest touched.
“I like you okay? And I had no idea how to approach you. I know I do not know you, but that’s why I talked to Kino so much, because I wanted to know more about you. And yes, you do not know me, but we can change that.” You were shocked. You had no idea.
“That’s not a good way to show someone you like them. I actually thought you were great the first few days, but then you got this gang, and you changed Kino into something he’s not. Your behavior is stupid, and your hurting other people.”
“I know. It is stupid, but I had no idea what to do. I wanted your attention, so that’s why I did it. And when you got mad at me I felt bad, but I still felt great since you talked to me.” He looked down on the floor, and kept talking.
“I’m nothing like what you have seen of me. Before I got here I was quiet, and did what I had to do. I was a loner, and that was also something I wanted to change when I changed schools.” You looked at him, and you could not believe what was coming out of his mouth.
“Let me take you out, so you can see the real me. And I will change, not only for you, but for everyone I ever targeted.”
You hesitated a little, but you wanted to agree since then he would change. You wanted to do something for the other targets.
“Okay, BUT it’s not a date. I’m doing to see the real you, and to be sure that you will change for other people’s sake.” He smiled, and looked at you like he was surprised.
“Tonight at 7.30? At the park?”
“Okay.” You said no more. He smiled again, and let go of your wrist before he waved at you while walking away.
Sitting on a bench you waited for him, he was late. It was 7.45 and you were about to pick up your bag and leave before you saw him coming towards you.
“Sorry I’m late. I bought food. Kino told me this was your favorite.” He sat down beside you and handed over the food. You frowned, but took it.
“Since I know a lot more about you then you do about me you can start with asking me questions.”
“Isn’t that a little weird? You literally just got here.” You turned yourself towards him, and started eating.
“No, it’s not weird. I just want you to know as much as you like, and you may have many questions.” He smiled and took a bite of his food.
“Siblings?” You asked before taking one more bite.
“1 sister, she’s older.” He looked at you while he answered, and you nodded before taking another bite. You wiped your mouth with a napkin before asking another question.
“If you don’t mind, could I ask why you moved here?” He nodded and shifted his sitting position.
“It you thought it was personal it’s not. My dad just got a new job so we had to move. I did not like it at first because I had to leave my friends and other family behind, but I got adapted.”
And there you sat. Eating and talking for hours. He answered every question you asked like an open book, and he you never saw the side he shows at school. You started to like him now, since you could tell by the conversation that he was a decent guy, with feelings. You actually started to fall for him right there and then, even though you hated him earlier today. There was just something about this other side of Wooseok.
It was time to get going, and he offered himself to walk you home. You let him, and you had an enjoyable conversation on the way back to your place. You laughed at his stupid jokes, and he at yours. He walked you all the way up to the front door.
“You have to promise me that you act like this at school tomorrow. Otherwise this meant nothing. So if this meant something to you, then change. I want bad boy Wooseok to disappear.”
“I promise.” He laid a hand on your shoulder and shook it a little while he smiled. You smiled, and you tip toed to kiss his cheek. You could tell he got surprised, but you just pulled yourself back and smiled.
“Goodnight.” You waved at him and opened the door, waiting for him to say goodnight before you closed it.
“Goodnight.” He smiled and you could see the blood rushing through his cheeks.
You smiled at him one last time before you closed the door, walking up to your room and laying down, you could feel this was the beginning of something new.
