BIO

Canadian/Dominican singer/songwriter Krystale has been making waves all over the blogosphere with her unique blend of jazz infused electro-soul.

She started out as an R&B and jazz enthusiast, looking up to Billie Holiday, John Coltrane and Toni Braxton. This lead her to pursue studies in jazz composition and arrangement, but her style solidified as she began to explore the world of electronic music.

Following her releases, The Good Fight with fellow Montrealer Kaytranada and her solo albumMachine, she is now working on a new EP set to be released in the fall of 2015. She is a two-time Montreal Jazz Festival performer, which includes her 2014 opening act slot for UK sensation Bonobo.

Krystale est une auteure-compositrice-interprète et réalisatrice de 24 ans, née à Montréal, dont les racines musicales renvoient à une enfance baignée par une musique éclectique. Sa voix et sa sonorité traduisent une identité singulière que la fusion des genres jazz, R&B et électro qu’elle produit renforce dans son caractère unique. Après le lancement de son EP The Good Fight avec Kaytranada et son album solo Machine, elle travaille présentement sur un nouvel album. En 2014, elle a fait la première partie du groupe Bonobo pendant le Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, ainsi qu’au festival NXNE à Toronto et sur la Scène Bell au FIJM en 2013.
