ive been wondering what would make her morally gray so this is my food to eat now mhmmhmhm YUMMY
but rachel couldāve been envious of karlās carefree life. heās a statue in an amusement park, so he doesnāt have to deal with the responsibilities that humans have to handle.
im going to CRY. have u seen that rachel blog?? violinist rachel i think?? there was like a drawing of her tired bc of her responsibilities and tasks and obligations and I REALLY LOVE THAT HC OF HER.
she seems really passionate with playing the violin. i like the thought of rachel having a love-hate relationship w it; its her escapism from such obligations in life, but at the same time, no one can really ignore her talent w it, so sheās held down by this intense expectation to be hmm.. excellent and to give it her all when performing. this pressure to be perfect persists even when sheās just playing for fun by herself.
really love your idea that in her point of view, karl IS free. both of them desire something from the other (to be FREE), but they donāt know that they already have it.
"my current hc is she left for a long period of time, and karl had no idea that she chose her life outside the park over him."
oh em gee. imagine her missing karl and thinking about their moments together... and after weeks of being reminded of him (seeing resin statues more than usual....finding a handkerchief w patterns similar to his bandana.. violin-playing feeling empty bc she has no one to enjoy it w/ besides karl), she decides one night that she will return. she did and discussed about this big idea of doing a concert w karl for fun, and they were both so EXCITED ABOUT IT. also, HER NOT TELLING THE FULL TRUTH ABOUT WHERE SHE'S BEEN IS SO CHEFāS KISS TO ME. she was saying that hmm maybe the gunman wanted her to stop going to the park, but what karl didn't know was he never used any force on her. SHE also made the choice of temporarily leaving, but why mention that when they just got back together? she's not about to lose their special time together again... selfish rachel, so tragic and thrilling ugh.
this gets a lil dark but i think its interesting if the gunman was probably a relative... like a helicopter brother or dad, one that probably DID care about her. in my brain at least, the day she went to the park, he finds she became more sneakier, her talking back more, discussing things like her dissatisfaction w her life and responsibilities, only to be put into explosive disagreements w/ the gunman. maybe he wonders what's so bad about her life bc she's talented, healthy, etc... but she's still not satisfied?? i think maybe one day, she returns home late, that the gunman really has to ask where she has been. oohh i love the idea of her not saying the full truth again here, like yes she's seeing someone.. she's going to this place so she can practice violin w that person..., but the gunman doesn't know she's talking about this resin statue!!!!!!!!!!! in an abandoned dangerous park!!!!!!!!!
"what's his name?" and she doesn't have an answer bc it's true, karlāat that timeāmight've been just a nameless guy she's been seeing. so all she can mutter is, "...he doesn't-i.. i can't tell you that."
the gunman, in return, pushes her to yk choose between either her life or karl, then cue her leaving for weeks :(
i still like the fiance/husband theory though HEHEHE that would be the most darkest theory ever and makes her more complex for me HEEHE. i don't think it's too far off either; there's a chance bc in unknown's last law of talos flash, the professor reminded karl of the gunman, and annie of rachel. and the two are married!!! it is a bit of a stretch to me bc maybe it's just the appearance and behavior that reminded him of them hehe, but there's a possibility!
"rachel being evil is boring and makes no sense. rachel being good is ok but has no flavor.ā
she looked too SWEET TO ME IN UNKNOWN'S LATEST DOODLES OF HER.. it really will break my heart if she did have ulterior motives wahhh. sheās my pink diamond of steven universe.. at least until unknown reveals it all.
i also wonder why karl went ahead w such an extreme choice like killing, if we're going by the "karl killed rachel theory.ā w the gunman, i can understand if it was an attempt of self-defense, but that really says something about his environment at that time (i heard from a video that pirates were known for being brutal and ruthless) + he doesnāt understand the significance of a human LIFEE...
