Mini-thread! Juno is sitting on the couch reading when Ava comes home. She’s trying to get used to reading with her brand new reading glasses (and only grumbling a little about it).

Ava shuffled about in the entryway, taking off her coat and shoes and tucking her bag neatly away. She was glad to be home, and even more excited to see Juno. It was rare for Juno to be home before her, but she was always glad for the extra time to spend together. She said her hellos to the dogs as they pattered out to see her, following them to the study where Juno must be.

She stepped inside, finding her way over to Juno. She smiled at her, heart fluttering in her chest. Wasn’t she lucky.

“Hello my love. You look incredibly gorgeous,” she said with a smile, sitting down beside her.

Juno looked up when she heard her wife come home, and she couldn't help but smile. As a reflex though, she quickly took off the glasses, still not being used to them and most definitely not associating the word gorgeous with wearing them. She smiled at Ava. "Hi, darling," she said and kissed her forehead and ignoring the compliment. "How was your day, sweet?"

Juno has been working in fashion industry for years. She had become quite successful and was used to dressing celebrities and was allowed to work at her own pace. She was quite specific about who she worked with though. Especially for longer collaborations.

She was meeting with Ava Brooks today. Her stylist had reached out and expressed that the young actress wanted to change her image towards something more sophisticated but still keeping her softness. Juno hadn’t fully agreed to the collaboration yet, but the actress and her stylist were coming to try some looks that Juno had as suggestions. Mostly to see if they had a vision that worked together. She was waiting in her studio for them to arrive, setting up some of her outfit ideas.

”Oh, well I hope you can relax soon then. You didn’t need to go through all this for me, it’s alright really. I’m glad you have but I’m just happy to be here.” She reached over and gently squeezed Ava’s hand. ”I want you to be happy tonight too. We’re not at work, we have time.”

“It’s okay. I did enjoy it. It just took some time and thought,” she hummed softly. At Juno’s hand touching her own, she flushed a dark red, and she could feel her breath catching. “Oh, I’m quite happy…”

Ava blushed, Juno hadn’t expected that. At least not so deeply. It did make her heart beat a little unexpectedly harder. She just smiled at her, reassuringly. ”I’m glad you’re happy, Ava.”

She nodded a little, swallowing again and everting her gaze. “Yes, yes. Are you ready for the next course? It will take a little bit of time for me to prepare,” she asked, trying to distract herself from other thoughts.

Ava was still acting a little strange, but she didn’t quite understand why. But she tried to just put it out of her mind. ”Right, yes I’m ready, but take your time. I’m alright, I promise.” She watched her closely, trying to not get caught up in her beauty too much.

She nodded, taking their plates from the table and starting to prepare their steaks. Her mind was racing with thoughts. While she did want this to be a date, and she hoped Juno would figure out her intention, she felt like a completely mess with the woman that had captured her heart so easily.

Juno watched her go, a little concerned. Ava seemed to be on edge, which she usually wasn’t. After a few minutes Juno stood and walked into the kitchen. She came up to Ava and without thinking put a hand on the small of her back. ”Are you sure you’re alright, Ava? Is it work? Is it getting too much? You’re allowed to take time off you know.”

Her breath caught in her throat, and she looked to Juno with a soft expression. “No, no, I’m okay. I am taking time off. I don’t know what’s come over me all of a sudden, I apologise. I think I just feel, a bit nervous about having you over. I wanted to make a good impression.”

Juno chuckled warmly at Ava’s explanation and leaned against the counter. ”Oh Ava, you really don’t need to worry about impressing me. We are way past that. You are just about the sweetest and most modest person I know.” She was so sweet… but that wasn’t the point. They were just enjoying dinner together. That’s it.

I know that hosting can be intense but we're here now and the food has been wonderful and you're doing great. Really, it's just lovely." "Oh you've really gone all in with this," Juno said with a fond smile. "You really spoil me, medium rare will be excellent." There was something stirring in her stomach, butterflies perhaps... But she had to behave. Ava had been so nice as to invite her to her home, she couldn't be having improper thoughts.

“Well, it isn’t often I get to cook for guests. It’s nice to do,” she responded, smiling back. She nodded at her comment on the food and began to plate up. She felt a little nervous, somewhat hoping it would in some way turn into a date.

"I'm happy to come over more often if you'd like," Juno added, taking a sip of her drink. "I'm not all that much of a cook myself so this is a genuine luxury. I can make the basics but definitely nothing fancy." She watched her plate up and realized how hungry she actually was.

“That would be lovely.” She came over and placed her plate down, before taking her seat opposite. “I do hope you enjoy it. Before you rethink coming over again,” she joked.

"Well it smells absolutely amazing so I highly doubt that I won't enjoy it," she said with a smile as she dug into the food. As she had suspected it really was delicious. She had no idea that Ava could cook like this, but she really did have to come over more often.

Ava watched her for a moment before she started eating, her heart beating faster than it should. It was so intimate, with the low lights and flickering candles, and she could feel her face flushing just a little.

Juno glanced up at Ava, was she... blushing? It was probably just Juno's imagination and the candles. She hadn't expected the low light and candles but it somehow seemed fitting for Ava, she was so sweet. "This is delicious, Ava," she said with a smile.

Juno was happy to eat, realizing that she had been quite hungry, and this food was after all extremely good. She looked up at the question. ”My day has been alright. I’ve been taking it a bit easier so I figured I’d only do a little bit of work today. But I got distracted by the embroydery and forgot to eat lunch.”

“That’s no use. It’s important to have proper meals. And you work so hard, it’s good to have a break to refuel,” she hummed. She knew she shouldn’t, but she couldn’t help thinking what it would be like to deliver a hand prepared lunch to Juno’s studio.

Juno has been working in fashion industry for years. She had become quite successful and was used to dressing celebrities and was allowed to work at her own pace. She was quite specific about who she worked with though. Especially for longer collaborations.

She was meeting with Ava Brooks today. Her stylist had reached out and expressed that the young actress wanted to change her image towards something more sophisticated but still keeping her softness.
