This must be Mysterious Teacher in the Dark. Oh, right. Mysterious Mister S. I remember. Zack draws adult male faces so round and soft, they look very young (like Dad). At first I thought he was just an older student.

Oh man. I had this teacher before. He was my high school lit teacher and he was awesome. He didn’t dress quite so neatly, though.

Ok, I remember that there was a star with a face on it on the chapter title page and I questioned who it was. Mystery solved. Somewhat anticlimactic?

The highwayman's dance is probably one of my favorite pieces of animation in recent years, it feels just like old school rotoscoping (don't know if it actually is).

Agreed! I had to rewatch it like five times. It’s VERY old school, though I don’t know if it’s rotoscoping or not. It was great.

Ok, rewatched it. Seemed very foreshadowy but I’m not sure what else I’m supposed to pick up on. Don’t tell me. I’m sure I’ll feel dumb when the time comes, but no spoilers.

Ok! Jumping back into it! Fair warning here and now, it’s been so long that I remember that this kid is named Max but I remember no other names. I remember that... It was Max’s first day at the new school, he spent the morning messing up Soup-Face and his Final Fantasy Gang, and there were some purple ghosties and Max’s future husband tipped off a teacher that Max was seeing dead people. Am I missing anything? Probably, but oh well. Tally-ho!

Oh it’s her! I remember her! She’s my favorite! And I think her name is...... Suzy?

It is Suzy! I’m so good! (That’s my step-mom’s name, so if I forgot it I would be a truly terrible person) And I still love her.

Such a mystery would just eat her alive. I wonder what she’d do if they told her they were like... ghost helper people?
