I also have DNA from a third lady. But I wouldn't consider her a third parent, I just have some of her mitochondria.

Perhaps 30 to 50 people in the world have DNA from 3 parents ... they have crossed the germ line barrier -- that is, these changes in their mitochondrial DNA (ther are about 13 genes on the mitochondria) could be passed down to their children...amazing world we live in
