Kyt waited until W’ruu had left. She listened carefully with the flicking of her ears until he was truly gone. The shadows shifted on the ground and looked like a sundial where the body was the telling spoke of time. Her silver hues turned to the hanging body and she once again walked up to it. She had played her part well, she held enough suspicions about this ‘Zatou’ as well as the whispers of Py. She bite her lips and reached out to touch the body with her gloved fingers.

“Is this how I am to say goodbye? Standing here alone looking up to the face that has haunted my dreams? To know that all my searching.. everything I have done.. means nothing. For you are right here and yet.. its not all of you? “ Her words such with overwhelming emotion that made her throat sore. She reached up and pulled a chain that began to lower the body down slowly. She walked behind it and brought it down as she lowered herself and cradled him into her lap. His head cradled in the crook of her elbow as she looked down to the dark blue slate of his hardened skin. His raven colored hair draped over her arm as his chest barely rose and fell against her. Using her index finger she pushed a few strands away from his face and she stared in silence for a time.

“I have loved you more than everything that has ever existed. I have died everyday waiting for you. I have suffered everything night looking for you. Now you are but a breath from me and I don’t know who you are. “ She lowered her head and put her forehead against his. “Who are you Zatou Zilv’arra? Are you the keeper that holds my soul captive within a realm I can not go? Are you the harbinger of my fate? Are you the soul that fulfills mine or are you the one that would see me lost forever?” She sobbed as tears fell from her eyes to his face. “Am I the mate of Chaos.. or the beloved of Hope? What if… I am both or none? I’ve learned to live a sort of a half life.. I need to be whole again.” She kissed his forehead and then laid her cheek against his forehead. Her gloved hand brought to her teeth as she pulled the gloves off.

“I have loved you for my existence.. and I will love you until the end of time.. if it is you. . come back to me. Keep your promise.” She slit her wrist and placed the open wound over his mouth and hugged him tightly, rocking ever so slightly as she hummed.

The infirmary of Whitebrim sat quiet, footsteps pittered about the stone canvas, leaving ghost trails of those who walked its halls. Galaihaurat found himself within its second floor, speaking with the medical clerk who watched over the gravely ill.

“Worry not for me, ser, gravely injure’d I am not. I myself fear for Vhalken and lady Laila… his energy deplete’d, her form lifeless, yet some hunger stirs within them both. I shall take my leave, I wish not to hinder their recovery. Bless’d be.” Galaihaurat seemed to dwell within a one-sided conversation with the clerk, giving no pause to his verbal number. The clerk sat aloof, as if confused whether or not Galaihaurat was giving command or merely speaking his mind, regardless, the elder elezen nodded, appeasing the Templar’s wishes.

Thy assault upon the great wyrm has left me in a wondrous pool of thought, Vhalken. Thy reckless abandon at the expense of thine own aether.. Animus? Could thou truly utilize the blade as a conduit, the blemish that tholes you so. Ifsoever you lose control and become this… aether grease’d fist that burst through reality. Aftermath [FFXIV:ARR]

Sairen had let a day pass before venturing back to the site where he’d found Gal and the other adventurers. The prospect of the battle worried him as the wind howled across the face of the derelict building atop the cliff. They’d faced down a Dravanian, and a rather large Dravanian at that; however, despite his hope the group seemed to have faired ill for it.

An exhausted Galaihaurat.

One Laila Hart, as her friend had introduced the comatose monk. Severely injured, possibility of recovery uncertain.

An unconscious Vhalken Leingod. During his training and his time under Gal’s command in Ishgard, the Elezen had taken care to always remind him to never put to much of his own Aether into his attacks, no matter how dire the situation. A cumbersome result for Vhalken, a result Sairen could only surmise.

A seemingly weary and defeated Telithea Engel, watching over her friend. The concern for a comrade was something he could relate to, but did not speak well to the state of their party.

A surly Alistaire Dietrich. The man had not revealed much to Sairen in their brief encounter, but like Telithea, his general attitude in the aftermath of their battle did not inspire as much confidence in Sairen as the young Dragoon would have liked.

Oniyuri Tsukashima. Quiet and kept, seemingly the only unscathed member of their assault. Sairen’s brow furrowed at the thought however. Despite her kind manner, her summoning of a dragon was cause enough for him to hold her at arms length for the time being. If she had connections to the Dravanians….

Which only left the disappearing ninja that Sairen had witnessed from the beginning of the battle. That he had forsaken the party. The snow swept through the air as Sairen ponder this. The battle had gone no better for him as it was. He’d landed with poor footing in his best effort to jump to the adventurers assistance, but it had hardly been the clean and graceful entrance he would have desired. The calculated and safe attack of the standard to which he held himself. But the rising threat of the Dravanians was also not something to be taken lightly. Whether the nobility saw it or not, the Holy See was going to need allies. That much was becoming transparently clear. That Galaihaurat placed his faith in them would have to be enough for now.

The snow beneath her chocobo’s feet crunched, sinking the broad bird into the white powder while the chill nipped beneath the quills of his feathers. He stood as proudly as his rider, head held high and his stride graceful even against the sharp cold of the northern wind. Coerthas was nothing like it used to be. Tinaviel sat side-saddle atop the pedigree, one hand holding the horn of her saddle while Abeloc held the reins. The man walked at her side, a heavy, red, woolen cloak wrapped around his clinking armor. He seemed heavier than even the mounted bird, sinking into the snow that dusted the path toward the bridge that crossed the sea of clouds.

Even signed, it held such hostility toward her sibling. The blood the shared now boiled within her, knowing all was lost should he get there first. The reason why some people have issues with abs is because, most of the time, the person who’s ripped has 0% fat on ‘em, so it looks ridiculously artificial. You gotta contrast the muscle in a very precise and concise way, and it can look fake, depending on the lighting and corporeal structure of the circumstance. And I say that cautiously, as by “fake” I don’t mean they look disproportionate; it just sometimes doesn’t look like how skin and muscle should appear. (And I know there are some repeated images in this post, but since it’s about something specific, I thought it’d be helpful to have ‘em conglomerated in one place.)
