leo was born to his poor mom and a '90s legend, whos really a dickhead irl. leo understands his dad's significance to other people, being one of the only actors providing filipino-american representation before leo was born. still, leo's dad is a cheating, womanizing asshole with toxic masculinity. growing up, leo hated the lifestyle of the rich and famous. his own father's behavior didn't help. however, in college (when leo was studying culinary arts), he met his now-bandmates. leo really does love music, so even though he has a problem with this whole celebrity thing, he's still in the industry anyway. he hopes he can navigate this world without compromising on the things he believes to be right. he really hates the blog's codename for him, anger issues. (though, provoking him is the point ijbol) leo does have a temper but also a really good heart. and he's trying his best to manage it. most of the time too, he gets angry at things he perceives to be unjust. he's very sensitive and though he's cishet, he tries his best to embrace his feminine side too and isn't afraid to step outside the box of traditional gender roles.

"i'm perfectly calm," he says, which clearly isn't true. but telling him to calm down is a pretty good way of making him even less calm. he knows the blonde already and thinks highly of her, though, so he decides to let it go. "do you really think that's true? people give a shit about me like that?" he says, "for you, i can believe it. your podcast is fucking awesome."

"i'm not that active on social media, leo! i thought you knew this!" that was partly true - she used it to post stories of her at parties and would message a few people whilst excitable and under the influence but wasn't one to post religiously. "making fun of me already, ah!" she was quick to wrap her arms around him. "i can't believe it's you! though, i guess you are a superstar, now!"

"stop flattering me," he grumbled, though he couldn't help the smile that graced his visage. "if you need money, i'll have you know that i'm far from a millionaire." and he would likely never be, no matter how popular neon nostalgia got, considering his whole thing about hating rich people. he welcomed the hug, though it came with a faux scoff. "fine. that's true," he admitted. "what have you been up to, kiri?"

obsession is a little strong aurelia thinks. "you think i'm obsessed with you?" she scoffs. sure, she didn't like the guy but she wouldn't call it an obsession. "you're the one who tried to be all 'oh i'm a knight and shining armor trying to save the damsel in distress' when i obviously didn't need it."

jesus. he sounds like such a chauvinist dickhead when she talks about him. but it wasn't about him being a knight or her being a damsel — he was genuinely just concerned and wanted to help. "alright, fine," he says, hoping the party lights obscure how his cheeks are burning. he feels so embarrassed, like he can never do anything right no matter how good his intentions are. "i'll never help you or anyone else ever again."

"   motherfucker,   "   minjun   curses.   the   club   lights   were   giving   him   a   headache;   he   couldn't   distinguish   if   the   pounding   was   coming   from   inside   his   head   or   from   the   thumping   bass.   time   seemed   irrelevant   at   this   point   —   his   apple   watch   had   died   hours   ago.   he   feels   dehydrated,   too,   mouth   parched   as   he   smacked   his   dry   lips.   "   fuck,   "   he   mutters,   staggering   toward   the   only   available   seat.   he   pushed   aside   a   pile   of   designer   coats   and   chic   handbags,   collapsing   into   the   leather   chair.   "   mmm,   i   kinda   wanna   nap,   "   he   confesses   to   no   one   in   particular,   feeling   the   fatigue   seep   into   his   bones.   "   do   you   think   kimmy's   gonna   give   me   shit   for   it?   "

"ooh. watch your language, kuya," teases leo. as if leo doesn't swear every five minutes. as if he hasn't made minjun go viral for saying curse words in bisaya. he sighs. "same," he admits. "i feel like kimmy doesn't really give a shit about us. she's 50; do you think she really stans neon nostalgia? some intern on her team probably added us to the list." with a shrug, he says, "other people would care. there are cameras everywhere. god."

"you  are  such  a  fucking  child  !"  jonnie  rolls  his  eyes  at  his  best  friend,  leaning  over  and  punching  him  as  hard  as  he  can  in  the  arm.  if  he  ends  up  bruised  tomorrow  then  he  definitely  had  it  coming  and  that's  a  hill  jonnie  will  die  on!  "i  mean—"  jonnie  pauses,  having  to  really  think  about  what  he's  going  to  say  because  his  brain  feels  like  it's  completely  short-circuiting,  "drink,  get  high,  eat  food  that  we  don't  have  to  pay  for  ?"  that  all  sounded  like  a  good  time,  at  least  in  jonnie's  eyes...  especially  the  food  part.  "if  you  don't  want  to  be  here,  we  can  leave  ?  but  if  we  do,  you're  paying  for  the  food,  i  didn't  bring  my  wallet."

leo feels like his every move is being watched closely, yet somehow the other guests don't really care about him. it's a really strange feeling. he stops himself from vocalizing the thought, though, the more that jonnie talks. "i don't wanna ruin this for y'all," says leo. he genuinely feels bad; he just wants his bestie to have fun. "honestly, i'm just whining as usual. don't mind me. i'll get over it." he leans against his seat, waiting for the joint to kick in. "i kinda need to be here anyway. you know people online are gonna have another meltdown if i'm 'mysteriously' missing again." the conspiracy theories get out of hand sometimes.

vinnie  rolls  his  eyes,  because  why  come  to  a  party  and  ruin  the  fun?  he  could  easily  walk  past  leo,  but  there  was  a  level  of  pride  involved  now.  "at  least  go  find  some  corner  to  go  be  depressed  in  instead  of  out  in  the  open.  you're  bumming  everyone  else  out."

leo pauses for a moment. he tries to seem cool, but actually, that hurts. it's not like he didn't provoke the other guy, so he can't mope about the response. "you're right," he says, and moves out of the way. "sorry for ruining the vibe."

[nicfms]

               nic  gave  him  a  nod,  still  keeping  close  to  him.  at  these  events  it  was  common  for  people  to  approach  each  other  to  have  small  talks  so  if  they  seemed  busy  it'd  give  leo  a  break.  "i  can  tell,  but  let's  not  think  too  much  about  it.  it's  just  a  party,"  he  shrugged,  trying  to  make  this  whole  thing  not  seem  as  big  as  it  was.  "i  think  you  fit  in  here  just  fine,  you  look  like  you  fit  in  here,  look  at  you  all  dressed  up,  i'm  proud."  his  arm  that  rested  over  his  shoulder  pulled  him  closer,  teasing. "who dressed you?"

"you're right," said leo. "i do have a tendency to overthink about... well, everything." he joked, "this is a custom-made piece by louis vuitton. 'cause, you know, i'm a model." a pause. he tried not to giggle. "was that believable at all? i've been trying to convince the people here that it's true."

" hm ... maybe true. i guess i'm the wrong woman to ask. personally, i'm not a fan of the ... jagged look ... or men, but hey, to each their own, " a chuckle as she shrugged a bare shoulder, white gown draping gracefully down on her elbow. " so now what i'm hearing is you want me to mess up your hair, then ? "

"yeah, of course," he spluttered out, sinking further into his embarrassment. "i just assumed some things were like, universal..." he coughed, trying not to dig himself any deeper into this. "nah, enough about my hair. sorry i snapped at you earlier. i didn't realize it was you, honestly. i felt someone looking at me and heard a british accent, so i thought it was just some random british person being mean to me."

"  oh  spare  me  the  tough  guy  act  "  she  retorted,  with  a  hint  of  playful  exasperation  although  her  tone  firm.  "  i  need  you  to  help  me  get  this  stain  out  of  my  dress  before  it's  permanent.  "  she  whined,  pointing  to  the  obvious  wine  stain  on  the  edge  of  her  silver  dress.  "  it's  so  embarrassing  ,  i'm  not  taking  no  for  an  answer  ,  so  suck  it  up.  "

"damn, i can't even get a palihug?" he was teasing; palihug meant please in bisaya. knowing that maggie wasn't confident in that language always amused him. "how do you even..." he took out his phone and looked it up. "it says i need baking soda to clean this up. there's no baking soda in this place, just cocaine," he remarked wryly, remembering the british guy earlier who was doing snow. "do you think that'll work?"

“   thanks     ,     bud     .     keep     that     good     work     and     i     might     leave     you     a     tip     ,    ”     winked     playfully     .     taking     a     final     sip     of     drink     before     giving     his     glass     to     the     other     ,     settling     against     the     counter     .     digits     searching     the     pocket     of     his     tailored     pants     for his phone .     scrolling     through     his     Instagram     while     homme     waited     for     his     new     drink     .

(spongebob narrator voice) a few minutes later... "put lots of ice, please," leo told the bartender, all nice and polite. this was sincere. the words that would come out of his mouth next? not so much. "sir," he told the preston guy, "here's your dri—ah, oops!" he feigned distress when he dropped the glass near the guy's shoes, whiskey and ice splattering around the area. "oof, i'm so clumsy."

"are you really that self involved that you think i was staring at you?" aurelia spits out before flipping him off. leo had a way of getting under her skin ever since he tried to save her when she was perfectly fine of saving herself. "i have better things to do than stare at you."

"that sounds like something who doesn't have anything better to do than stare at me would say." beneath his bravado, his enmity with the girl genuinely bothered him. he's not good at handling conflict. "i really hope you get over your little obsession with me."

parties  like  tonight  weren't  exactly  a  big  deal  for  vinnie,  and  why  would  they  be?  half  of  his  time  was  spent  out  drinking  and  having  fun,  basking  in  the  attention  and  limelight  he  so  easily  received.  he's  become  used  to  people  liking  him,  so  when  someone,  someone  who's  name  begins  with  l-  and  ends  in  -eo,  doesn't,  it's  a  little  unsettling.  "you're  kind  of  in  the  way,  dude,"  he  says  frankly.  vinnie  raises  his  glass,  nothing  more  than  to  ice  to  show  and  in  dire  need  of  a  refill.

"oh, what, i am? sorry i'm kind of in the way, bro," says leo. aaaand... he doesn't budge. he gives the empty glass a quick glance. "hope something can be done about that, man."

the  fact  that  the  designer  name  didn't instantly pop into the forefront of her mind when she saw saw the outfit made gaze linger. any second it was bound to dawn on her - or would have had her thoughts not been interrupted. well, at least she'd get the answer.  ❝ who styled your outfit? ❞

"oh, this old thing?" said leo. "it's louis vuitton, obviously." his cheap suit definitely wasn't lv, but he thought it'd be funny to pretend it was. he wondered if the woman would buy it. "but..." he tried to move towards her ear slightly, whispering. "this is a custom-made fit that they made for me. pretty cool, right?"

             nic  had  no  sense  of  personal  space  whenever  he  saw  any  of  the  people  close  to  him,  he  just  didn't  care  at  this  point.  his  arm  rested  around  leo's  shoulder  comfortably,  placing  a  gentle  kiss  on  the  side  of  his  head.  he  could  tell  he  wasn't  the  most  comfortable  in  this  environment,  nic  was  good  at  distracting.  "is  there  a  reason  why  we're  being  moody  today?  come  on,  give  me  a  better  face."  he  played,  smiling  widely  at  his  direction.

usually, all people could see when leo was in a mood was him being angry or aggressive. nic's gentleness made him feel some sense of relief. "i'm overwhelmed," he admitted. "all of this is too much... but also not enough...?" heaving a sigh, he muttered, "what am i even doing here? honestly, you fit in here, at least."

"uh- maybe another drink? then i'll probably get going." she was moderating herself because the last thing she needed was to get drunk when she was still trying to deal with symptoms. "yeah, things are balancing out again, i think. there's just a lot of people here." it was lovely to see people but she was a little on edge about it. "how about you? how are things going?"

"well, i'm glad to see someone else having fun." leo's probably just a fucking sourpuss. he'd accepted this by now. "i'm... well, you know i'm the grinch." he sighed. "i'm trying to watch a movie on my tablet, but i refuse to pay for a streaming service subscription. so i've mostly just been accumulating viruses on my device." a pause. "virii?"

" well, excuse me, mister, " british accent escaped her lips with a laugh, a dainty arm reached out to fix a stray hair atop leo's head, but not before lightly licking her finger ( half for moisture's sake, half to embarrass the other ... well, maybe more like 30 / 70, ) " for just trying to make sure you look perfect. " kissing her own hand, she hummed, " there we go ! not one hair out of place. "

"but i thought women like it when you're a little rough around the edges," says leo. the attempt to embarrass him is effective, but he's still very much eager to learn from logan. he sees her like a mentor of sorts in various aspects of life. "don't i look too neat now?"
