I do think a lot of these straight guys have the wrong setting on the app, I don’t think they are intentionally trying to match with lesbians like trans woman (males) are

I really want to believe that too anon, but just to clear things up for everyone reading, in case you’ve never used tinder:

when you click to edit your info and choose your gender, this is what you see:

you can click either of those, or “other.” if you click “other”, it takes you to a search bar.  Here is what happens if I type in “tr”:

If I click on any of these other genders (and this works for “genderqueer” or “couple” or whatever the fuck else you decide to pick):

If you click the little x next to the gender, it takes you back to the first “I am” screen and clicks one of the sexes for you.  You cannot show up on Tinder without first choosing a gender.

And here are the options they give you for what you are shown:

in other words, in order for these men to show up in my searches, they have to be choosing “other” and picking something that will make them visible to anyone seeking “women”.  Never forget that men are not just stupid, they’re often actively malicious.  These men are choosing a “gender” that makes tinder show me their profile, and they’re doing it on purpose.
