I made a playlist of some of my favorite study tunes. I prefer listening to classical (or modern classical) music because it helps me focus on the work in front of me. Let me know what kind of music you like to study to!

[ 1/3 ] Hi! So I know it’s been a while since I last (truly) posted any kind of advice, but as you should know, college does steal most of my time, plus Into The Woods and A Chorus Line rehearsals. However, now that I’m dealing with exams I thought that I would write some tips for you that have been so far very useful to me. I’ll probably update three and three.
1. ORGANIZATION IS THE KEY!
I’ll probably never get tired of saying this. As a person that stresses out, I’ve learn that organizing and planning in advance is the best solution. Not only it reduces anxiety and stress, but it also helps to organize topics and important topics, and most importantly it helps distributing your time. There are tons of studyblr who create printables specially for exam preparation, but my absolute favourite so far is the FIVE PAGE STUDY/REVISION PLANNER by @theorganisedstudent. It contains a planning page, a topics to cover page, an activity studying ideas page, a study schedule and a page dedicated to motivation.
@theorganisedstudent makes a lot of content to get organised (DUH), and it’s unbelieveable useful, so you should all check it out. You cand find a link to her printables HERE
2. MUSIC
If you are the kind of person that can’t study with music, you should probably skip this part, cause it won’t be really useful unless you want to learn more about it. Music helps me concentrate a lot more than silence. Why? I have no idea. I don’t have an specific genre, because it all depends of the subject and the time of the day (I’m going to list some suggestions anyway). For example, if it’s late in the night and I need to study something important I probably won’t listen to classical or quiet music because I might fall asleep. In said case, I’l probably listen to some pop music playlists which lyrics I totally don’t know, but that keep me awake and with energy. However, if I had a normal day and it’s morning or afternoon, I’ll probably listen to instrumental music, soundtrack or cast recording, but never songs from a musical I’m prepairing, otherwise I’ll start singing. Basically, it’s your choice, but it must be a smart choice if you want it to work.
Currently what I’m working with is: Waitress Cast Recording (Spotify), Hamilton Cast Recording, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, An American In Paris Cast Recording, Finding Neverland Cast Recording, Begin Again OST, Dulce y Agraz EP, Mamma Mia Cast Recording, Disney Instrumental Playlist, Bajo Las Estrellas Spotify Playlist
3. FLASHCARDS AND CONCEPTUAL MAPS
This two are probably my favourite techniques to study. Not only they are aesthetic but they are also really useful if you have visual memory like I do. One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that if I take time to make them pretty and neat 1) I don’t get bored 2)I remember it better 3) When I want to revise it’s easier. Tumblr and Pinterest have a lot of ideas you can use, and if you want to see my flashcards, send me a message and I’ll post some pictures. Meanwhile, here you can find some tips:
1. Use different fonts, they don’t need to be a masterpiece, but it’ll keep you entertained
2. Use diagrams and drawing, if you are short of time I don’t recommend it, but if you have a lot time absolutely do it! Here you can find a channel that makes great doddles.
3. Use color boards. Your notes will look better. (Some Ideas)
4. Remember this are for ressumes! This means that you don’t have to write everything all over again. Just the important ideas
5. Keep it SCN: Smart, Creative and Neat
[ 27. 06. 16 ] - FIRST EXAMS EVER
First exam’s preparation takes a lot of time, but organization is absolutely the key. I’m done with Classic Psychology Theories, now I’m starting with Sociology, and then Philosophy and Psychological Processes. Listening Waitress and Mamma Mia cast recordings is quiet a help.
