let me tell you, lionel messi is not responsible for argentina’s poor performance. maybe he didn’t have the best game, but all eyes are on messi when he plays, so of course people are going to analyze him but they are so quick to forget about the other ten players on his team – who are all equally to blame for argentina’s loss. the fans and the media put the weight of the world on messi’s shoulders and when he cracks under the pressure, they wonder why he can’t handle it. i’m sick of it. it’s not fair to put all the stress on him in the first place when he’s clearly the only one on this damn team who even wants to be in the world cup. sure, he dragged this team through the qualifiers but he can’t continue to be a one-man team indefinitely, he needs help, he needs backup. this is unacceptable. where is the midfield to create space and opportunities? where is the rest of the frontline to attack? where is the defense to protect? why does messi have to do everything by himself? he shouldn’t have to. he can’t carry an entire team to glory. no one can. the argentina nt needs to step it up and help him or so help me god
