gabriel offered a combination of a small smile and a nod in greeting when he saw liam. always glad to see either a fellow member or one of his employees, he settled into the conversation fairly quickly.  âa four year old with this level of talent is just unheard of.â his voice giving away that he was attempting a playful rouse while still remaining firmly proud of his son. his question, though, caused a few chuckles, ânot gonna lie, liam, i only know them as the ninja turtles. which, if thatâs the case, iâm hoping heâs the next raphael.â
âDoes he wanna be an artist? Yâknow, I mean has he shown interest?â Liam definitely didnât know what he wanted to be at that age, just because he was so indecisive. âI mean they were both big so either way, heâd have a good following,â He just knew that the Sistine Chapel was painted by one of them.âThatâs the red one, right? With the two stabby things?âÂ
Aurora was having an enjoyable time at Arts Alive so far. It was nice to run into people she hadnât gotten the chance to see in a little bit, plus it gave her daughter the chance to mingle with other children around her age. Taking a step back from the crowded areas of the festival, she glances over at the prospect. âProbably a good idea, but most of the parents in this town arenât too bad,â she chuckles. She hoped she didnât come off as one of those all knowing, Karen momâs. The oneâs that were always in other peopleâs businesses and justâŠbitchy. She tried her best to parent the way she wanted to, not wanting to judge others like she had been judged in the past. âI might be biased, but I heard that Mamaâs Kitchen booth was giving away some free samples,â she jokes.Â
He flicked his cigarette, getting the excess ashes off as she spoke. âNah, not really worried about the parents as much as those kids lungs.â He had grown up around people smoking pretty much all the time so his lungs were fucked from the beginning, but these kids had a chance if they wanted to stay away from smoking. âI can handle âem yelling at me.â He had the talent of tuning people out. âYeah? What sorta samples are you guys givinâ away?â
âArenât you thoughtful, Prospect.â The man arched a brow at the familiar face. He too found himself wandering around. Somewhere more quiet was ideal. Zeki guessed he would gravitate one of the food vendors. He was like most people who followed his stomachâs rumblings. âJust wait until you have some tike who drops their ice cream on you. Or chuck the whole thing. Iâve seen that too.â Luckily, he wasnât the target. Zeki surely would tell the little hellion of a child off. His words held no prejudice for age. âDepends on what youâre in the mood for. Pretty sure I saw fried butter somewhere. I probably would say anything but that but hey if youâre into that then have at it.â
"Kids love me, dude. I think theyâre just scared of your mug.â He teased before grabbing the pack of smokes out of his pocket to offer to him. It was better to offer him one rather than having Zeki ask him for one; he should stay in the Clubâs good graces after-all. âAt least itâs hot out so itâll cool you down if that happens. Or Iâll give you my shirt if that happens to you.â He assured, happy to help him out. âFried butter sounds like itâs gonna go right through my system. At least offer me fried pickles, the thing thatâs being fried is sorta healthy. I could get you fried butter if you want.âÂ
âI donât want to do this.â He complained as Del bullied him into the painterâs chair. He had tried his best to avoid his shift for their auto-shop stall, but unfortunately their receptionist was not only festive, she was also annoyingly good at tracking them down. âYou will do this, and you will like it.â She said cheerily, shoving a paintbrush into his hand and patting his head affectionately. âAll smiles, Taj! Donât scare the kiddies away!â She sang before floating out of the stall in that hideous âI love Claytonâ t-shirt.Â
He scowled even more just out of spite, turning to find Liam not too far away.Â
âKid, I will pay you to take my shift.âÂ
Of course Liam was going to come to the stall, considering he worked at the place to begin with and check out what everyone was doing on the kidsâ faces. He always found it amusing that badass bikers sat down and pained on kids faceâs. Of course Taj didnât seem to find it amusing, considering he was sitting in one of those chairs. He shifted his weight, taking a good time to think and process what the other man had just said."Oh man, somethinâ about that doesnât seem right. You volunteered, right?â He asked, though he knew the answer to that. Anything to get Taj still talking to him. âCause I donât know, feels wrong getting paid to do something charitable. And Iâm sure youâre a way better painter than I am. Youâre good with your hands.âÂ
He couldnât help but smile as he passed families heading towards a more secluded area. It was nice seeing them out and about. It made him wish that he was able to have something special like that but that was long gone at this point thanks to both of his parents being gone. He was itching for a smoke which was why he was walking towards a quieter area to begin with. It seemed to be the unofficial designated smoking area at this thing currently. He lit his cigarette, noticing the person near him. "Didnât wanna smoke too close to the kids âround here,â He noted, showing his cigarette thought that was obvious. âSome of the parents scare me.â He joked, though it was a little true. âIâm debatinâ where to go next. Which booth has the best food?âÂ
it had been years since the last time that gabriel had been able to attend any of the townâs annual celebrations. arts alive, though, was one of the more peaceful ones. the rest often ended rowdy enough that it was made entirely clear that the town was made up of at least one motorcycle club. âyou see this here ?â gabriel pointed at one of the pictures done by a member of the kids kove, the daycare in town. he informed the person who had, for all intents and purposes, become the other half of this interaction, âthis oneâs my kidâs. i like to think levi is an ARTIST IN THE MAKING.â it was mostly scribbles but, he was clearly a very proud parent regardless of this.
His dad used to take him to this thing years ago, and it was something that Liam now does in his honor. He usually looks at the different booths, buys things to help out local businesses, and also wander around, looking for familiar faces to say hi to. Gabriel was no exception, considering the man was also his boss at Victory Auto. Looking at what he was pointing to, Liam smiled. âLooks sick.â He entertained Gabrielâs words, giving him a nod, âDraws better already than I can now. Are you thinkinâ the next Leonardo or the next Raphael?âÂ
( KIOWA GORDON, TWENTY SIX, CIS MAN, HE/HIM. ) LIAM KASKA has been living in Clayton, Georgia for ALL HIS LIFE. They are a PROSPECT FOR THE IRON COFFINS and currently working as a MECHANIC. They are known to be GULLIBLE & PARANOID, but also known to be PASSIONATE & YOUTHFUL. I hope you are enjoying their time in Clayton, there is no place quite like home. ( jay, 23, est, he/him. )
tw: death, parental abandonment
QUICK FACTS:
Liam has no family left, his mother bounced when he was a baby leaving his father in charge of him. He spent most of his days with a nanny considering that his dad was a member of the Iron Coffins and didnât have much time for him.Â
His dad died five years ago of unnatural causes. He doesnât know how or when exactly but heâs always vowed for revenge on whoever did it. His bets on the Phoenixâs (though really it was because his dad just was in the wrong place at the wrong time). However, he holds a very big grudge against the rival club.Â
Since his dad was a member of the Iron Coffins up until his death, Liam pretty much grew up around this life. Itâs all heâs ever known, itâs something he always knew heâd be a part of.Â
Despite his upbringings, heâs actually a very kind and genuine kid. He just wants to prove himself to the club so that he can be fully patched in. Heâs usually seen joking around but will do whatever the club tells him to, happy to give his blind loyalty to them.Â
He has some commitment issues thanks to everyone seeming to either die on him or leave but thatâs something he pushes deep down inside of him.Â
