“Ugh, I could kiss you. I love Taco Bell and I haven’t eaten,” she said with a grin. She led her into the living room and sat on the couch. “We can get started after we eat, yeah? I can get drinks,” Layla offered, getting up to go to the kitchen. Once she was in there, she called back to the room. “What do you want? We have Gatorade, Sprite… Ah, grape juice? Obviously water…”
While she grabbed a glass of water for herself, she couldn’t help but notice how beautiful Poppy looked. It was hard not to, though. She was gorgeous beyond belief and completely unaware of it, making her all the more appealing. She heard her phone go off, breaking her from her thoughts and bringing her back to reality. She rolled her eyes at the obviously suggestive text from her father, then texted him back before walking back into the room with their drinks. “So… I barely know anything about you, yeah? Tell me about yourself.”
She bit her lip and nodded, walking inside slowly after Layla left the doorway. She closed the door and slipped off her shoes, admiring the house. It seems Layla’s family had a bit of money. She followed Layla into the living room and sat before she saw her go into the kitchen. “U-Uh... G-Gatorade p-please.” She responded, looking at all the pictures of Layla’s family all over the room. She envied that fact she had such a close relationship with her family.
When Layla came back into the living room, she took her drink carefully from her and sipped. She felt nervous at what she asked but she ultimately expected it as well. “O-Oh. T-There isn’t m-much to t-tell, really. L-Lived in C-California for m-my whole l-life, o-only child in my f-family, I p-play soccer with you and also b-basketball.” She took another sip. “I don’t k-know much a-about you e-either, to b-be honest.”
