Should I go be a professor of nursing? Also I think I’m applying to PhDs for Fall 2020. Stop.
I’d asked my primary PI to support me in my own grant related to suicide prevention in college populations and felt sort of shot down. Then asked if I could be a therapist on a treatment study if I completed the training on my own time (actually I just asked for the time off to go to the training) and again got a weird no-ish thing. So, phd time?(!)
So, I should be writing my candidacy exam (first year paper/qualifying exam/whatever other programs call it). My whole first year was online which, turns out, I’m not great at. I’m a very prickly studier and too easily distracted. Once this is done (and I defend it), I’ll “just” being teaching two days a week on my old unit and spend two days in my private practice. Hoping for a restful summer :)
I’ll be defending my dissertation proposal next month, finish my teaching residency this summer, and then I think I’ll get to be an adjunct professor in the fall 2022 semester. 👍
Got it.
Starting fall 2025…I’ll be a professor of nursing. 🏆
