It’s OK to feel frustrated with your blog or story or editing.  It’s OK if things aren’t working out the way you want them to. 

Just don’t beat yourself up too hard ok?  You are your worst critic and its easy to shoot yourself down.  You’re not alone in these feelings.  I’m sure many simblrs could tell you that they’ve also felt their stuff just wasn’t good enough.  Its a battle with yourself that shouldn’t put you on the losing end. 

So don’t give up! Instead find what it is you dislike and try to change it.

We’re all constantly changing and growing as people, so its only natural that what we produce, stories/pictures/art, also changes with time.  We pull bits and pieces of things we’ve learned and incorporate them into what we make.  Its how we learn to define our own styles.  You will only learn what works with trial and error.  If you don’t try something, you won’t know if it will work for you.  So don’t be discouraged and keep practicing, but as my junior high music instructor use to say, “Practice won’t make you perfect, but it will make you better.” If your blog is something you’re unhappy with, ask yourself why you’re unhappy with it? Are you feeling overwhelmed by the need to keep up a queue?  Are you unhappy with what you’re posting and afraid to do something else for fear of backlash?  There are many worries people have with running a simblr.    Don’t forget to relax. Your blog is made first for yourself, before it is made for anyone else.  You can do anything you want.  If you only want to post once a month, do so.  If you want to pose 20 pictures in one day, do so.  You can break it up with random pictures/edits instead of always feeling the need to post just your story.  Remember that not everyone does things with the same speed or just don’t have time to post a lot.  Don’t stress about how many people are following or how many notes you get on your pictures.  I get it, its nice to see that number rise and it makes you smile to get a note or a message from someone.  The best way to getting notes though isn’t posting a bunch, or even editing your pictures.  The best way to get notes is to reach out and start talking to other simblrs.  Pretty much just be friendly.  Are you tired of your story and want to change but are afraid people what people will say?  Just do it.  If someone says something, just ignore them, or kindly remind them that this is your blog and you can post whatever you want.  Finding a story that resonates with you should be more important than continuing something you’re not enjoying.  If you’re inspired and excited by your story, chances are other people will be too.  :) So please don’t feel down about yourself.  Just keep going.  If its becoming too much, step away for a bit and come back.

Simlish Radio Music from The Sims 2 for The Sims 4

The Sims 2 for PS2 was one of my favorite games when I was younger, and the music brings back so much nostalgia that I had a deep need for it in the Sims 4 game. It was a pain in the buns converting the audio files and changing to bitrate, and testing it all. but it was well worth it. So here are some of my favorite songs from The Sims 2 for console, and a couple from other renditions of The Sims 2. All of them are simlish. 

Recommended Install Instructions: Download the zip file, and place the “alternative” and “pop” folders in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Custom Music. Let the two folders overwrite the pre-existing ones, or place the tracks individually in whatever station you prefer. Just make sure the mp3 files are in a folder, whichever you prefer.

When you go in game, go to settings, music, and make sure they are enabled. Look for a green check mark next to them. If you’re me, you can unselect all the Sims 4 provided music for those channels, and only play these.

I’m saddened and disgusted at the announcement that transgender people can no longer serve in the US military. Trump has done literally no good whatsoever since he became “president” (cause honestly it doesn’t even feel like we have a president, just a village idiot that decided to take over), and the only good job he’s done is successfully un-doing literally all progress we’ve made. These are people who are willing to die for his undeserving and pathetic ass, and he treats them like this? Because of “medical costs”? Here’s an idea, take the money out of the fund for that wall that we don’t need and that will be more than enough to cover it. smh, what a fucking joke.

We are appalled by President Trump’s tweets about banning transgender people from military service. There are an estimated 15,000 transgender people already working in the Department of Defense, putting their lives on the line to protect our nation and its values. Those values do not include the heartlessness exhibited by Mr. Trump this morning. Discrimination has no place in our government, in our workplaces, our schools, or anywhere else in our lives.

While it’s still unclear what the actual policy ramifications of these tweets will be, we recommend keeping up with (and, if you can, donating to) the ACLU and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund. 

You can also directly tell the president how unacceptable his attack on American servicepersons is by using this form provided by the @transgenderfreedomproject.

We know there will be plenty of conversation about this on Tumblr in the coming days, and we urge you to take this moment to support and educate each other in whatever ways you can.
