"I'm not ready to start classes back up," Hercules grumbled as he looked through his semester schedule, pointing to one of the professors names. "This one... the name sounds familiar, do you know who that is?"

Hercules chuckled and shoved his hands in his pockets, following Aaronâs lead. âI havenât thought of anything. It would be nice to become fluent in French, but Iâm not sure I can do that in a years time. Thereâs little things, like drink more water, get more exercise, things like that. What about you?âÂ
âFrench, huh? Do you have any of the basics, at least? Thatâs usually a pretty important start.â Aaron shrugged, taking a deep inhale of his cigarette. âI think I told Laurens that I was going to quit smoking, but weâll see if that happens.â
"Yeah, I've been taking French classes since I got to London, and I have a tutor to help me out even more." Hercules chuckled a bit and looked over at him. "That'll be a tough one, but I'm sure you can do it. If you need any support I'm here."
whatevurr-burr:
Aaron grinned, drawing his scarf in a bit closer. âWell, letâs go, then!â he insisted, leading the way. âSo - any new years resolutions?â
Hercules chuckled and shoved his hands in his pockets, following Aaronâs lead. âI havenât thought of anything. It would be nice to become fluent in French, but Iâm not sure I can do that in a years time. Thereâs little things, like drink more water, get more exercise, things like that. What about you?âÂ

âI donât know man, I was desperate,â he groaned, resting his forehead on his crossed arms. Â âI was probably only half awake when I registered for it, I saw the word chemistry and I jumped at it.â
Hercules shut his laptop and set it down on the table, leaning over to look at all of Johnâs papers. âYouâre lucky I love science.â He chuckled softly, grabbing a pencil to scribble down a few important things on the subject. âItâs definitely not an easy class. I probably have the papers from when I took it, I can give those to you.â
James: how am I sick again James: no like seriously what entity have I pissed off to deserve this James: wait who is this
Herc: Its Herc, i'll make you some tea and soup
Herc: probably whichever one controls the immune system
âMan; winter break is never long enough,â John groaned, books and paper spread out across one of the tables in the chapter room. Â âI donât know why I decided to take Chemistry and Society other than I needed a science credit. Â I donât even know what the fuck Iâm doing. Â Have you taken this class before?â
"Agreed." Hercules mumbled absently then looked over at John with a raised eyebrow, pausing his typing for just a minute. "That's the science credit you chose? Let me help you out man, I took it sophomore year and probably still remember stuff."
Hercules wakes up in the middle of the night and eats fruit loops, and if anybody tells him to go back to sleep, or yells at him, he glares at them and continues eating them anyway.

Aaron smiled sympathetically, pulling out a cigarette while they were still outside. âIf you arenât starting the new year with a hangover, then whatâs the point?â he joked, leaning away from the wind to light up. âI was thinking about walking over to that diner on Bleecker, if you wanna join. I find greasy hashbrowns always help the morning after.â
Herc leaned back against the outside wall with a chuckle, looking over at Aaron. âThatâs a fair point. If you can remember celebrating the New Year, youâre doing it wrong.â He laughed out in agreement and buttoned up his coat. âThat sounds delicious man, Iâm totally in.âÂ
whatevurr-burr:
Aaron sighed, following suit as he lifted the last bag in. âWhy do I get the feeling Alex has something to do with this?â he muttered at the overfull recycling bin, rubbing the back of his neck. âOh, man, I canât even imagine - it sounded like you guys were going pretty hard last night.â
âIt has his name written all over it. I love the guy, but he canât keep things tidy for the life of him.â Hercules tried to push the paper bags down in the bin so the lid could shut tight, sighing out. âIt was pretty insane, a good way to start the new year, but this is a killer hangover. I need to chug a gallon of water.âÂ
âDo you know whose chore trash and recycling was last month?â Aaron inquired, as he and Hercules carried out the third, and thankfully last, set of paper bags piled with the glass and plastic bottles of the frat house. âBecause I feel like we definitely got stuck with short end here.â
@lilhercherc
âNo idea, but I might wring their neck whoever it was,â Hercules grumbled out as he hauled out a large paper bag that felt like it was going to break at the handles. He opened up the large recycling bin outside when they finally got to it, throwing in the heavy bag. âAgreed. And Iâm too hungover to deal with this.âÂ
freedomxforxall:
âIâve only ever danced with Peggy sober, and I hope they arenât all that talented.â He laughed. âI can hardly keep up as it is.â He grinned leaning back himself propped on one of his legs. âI wonder then who was the one to finally convince her. The world may never know, but they deserve a medal.â He laughed. âYouâre probably right! we should go check on him in a bit. See if he managed to get a special someone under the mistletoe he wanted.â He smirked. At this point he didnât care if it was Mariah or Alex.
"This is my first time dancing with any of them. Angelica could hardly stay on her feet, but the others werenât that clumsy.â Hercules chuckled quietly, turning his head to look at Lafayette while they spoke. âYou know what, Iâm not sure. I might have to do some researching to figure out who it was. They really do deserve a medal or trophy.â He moved his gaze around the room to see if he could find John, scrunching up his face when he saw that he was nowhere near a mistletoe. âHeâs just standing around with a bottle, I think itâs our duty to go force him under the mistletoe.â
dolleyxpayne:
Dolley looked up and saw Hercules standing nearby her. âHi. They werenât too bad.I decided to stay here so it was pretty quiet in the house. What about yours? Oh that reminds me. I hope you donât mind but I got you a present.â The girl said as she bit her lip a little.Â
Hercules grinned as a way to greet the girl beside him, turning his body so he was facing Dolley better while they spoke. âI stayed around too, it was pretty quiet, but I probably had my favorite Christmas I can remember,â he admitted with a chuckle. âOh, I got you something too, I was really hoping it wasnât weird or anything..âÂ
martha-d:
Martha blushed softly, âThank you,â She grinned. âThat sounds good! Iâm glad you werenât alone,â she laughed slightly. âAnd I definitely get what you mean about being needy, Iâm basically the same way.âÂ
Hercules flashed a bright smile to her, setting his drink onto the table. âCare to dance?â He asked, offering his hand to pull her onto the dance floor. âI really try to avoid being needy, but I canât help it. I enjoy the company of people.â
sarahlivingstcn:
âOh? I saw Peggy earlierâŚâ She told Hercules. âShe was very drunk..â
Hercules laughed softly. âI think Lafâs taking care of Peggy right now, sheâs hammered.â He glanced off to where they were sitting, just a hint of jealousy in his voice.
angeliwerk:
She accepted the compliment with a polite nod and a wide smile. Then she cracked the humble facade: âDamn straight.â It was followed by a laugh. While some mightâve expected Angelica to be the more graceful of the two, she was a stumbling Bambi on ice next to Hercules.
Hercules showed a wide grin to Angelica as they started to dance, letting himself laugh out softly at how she stumbled around. âYouâre drunk,â he observed aloud, smiling. âI told you how I was gonna tell Laf about my feelings, right? Well, I did.âÂ
sallyjhemings:
âGive him time. Heâll find it his heart to figure out the words to say to you.â
âIâve got good news and bad news.â He sighed a bit. âThe good news is it sounds like he does care for me in that way. But heâs not ready for us to be anything more. Which I get. It just stings.âÂ
freedomxforxall:
Hearing him reaffirm his statement Lafayette had to accept the fact that his friend knew exactly what he was saying to him. It was certainly sweet that he took the time to learn his language jut to be able to do this, and confess to him. as well as doing it in such a romantic space. A winter party of all places. However his thoughtfulness and care is exactly what suddenly made him clam up in her nerves. Sure when theyâd first met Laf started to develop feelings for his dear friend, but heâd pushed those aside thinking he could never be interested in him. Theyâd both been with other people throughout the last few years, and it all felt like a distant memory at the moment now crashing back into his reality.Â
He wondered if the shock showed on his face. He wondered what he should do. He cared deeply for his friend. Love him even. But feelings werenât something Lafayette dealt with in a good way. There were still a lot of things he needed to deal with in himself and he knew that. He was a flirt almost as bad as Alexander at times, and while that stemmed from trying to be a distraction from this, it hadd become a part of him now. âHerc IâŚâ He trailed off no understanding how to put into words how he felt. Or what Herc even expected out of this.Â
He took Herculesâs hand in his own. âIt is never my intention to hurt you. You are my closest friend, and I love you. I would be lying if I said I did not care for you in the same way, but I would also be lying if I said I was ready for more than what we are.â He looked down and away from him a bit ashamed. âI am not sure what you wish to come from this, but that is all I have to give right now. I can only hope for now that is enough.â He sighed.Â
He would really need to do some soul searching for this and right here and now was just very sudden, he was still for the most part in a party mode, and it was a surprise he was even able to give that much of an honest answer. It was a good thing he told him now before Laf had the chance to get drunk himself, though now he wasnât sure he could after this. Heâd be too scared of doing something stupid.
Hercules tried to keep his gaze up from his feet to at least examine Lafayetteâs expression as he spoke to see if he could figure out how he was reacting to all of this, doing his best to keep calm and collected. The obvious shock on Lafâs face caused Herc to swallow hard and nervous, but he forced his eyes to stay up. It had been a long time coming, and it felt pretty good to have all of it off of his chest. A weight had been lifted with his shoulders. But only to be replaced by another, more heavy weight.Â
He wasnât expecting any sort of grand romantic moment to happen from this, in fact his expectations were pretty low. In all honesty, Herc expected straight up rejection. He watched as the wheels turned in Lafayetteâs head and decided at once that no matter the outcome, he was going to go back to the table and get himself a bottle of whiskey to down ASAP.Â
When he grabbed his hand, Herculesâ heart jumped a bit and he managed to let his eyes meet with Lafâs, breathing in deeply to brace himself for whatever was about to be said to him. By his tone of voice, he could tell nothing was going to be settled tonight. He listened intently to the words, his gaze averting away after just a few words, nodding his head slowly with pursed lips.Â
âOf course.. Take your time,â was all that Hercules managed out in a whisper, showing his best friend a tight smile as he released the breath heâd been holding.
He hoped he didnât sound insincere or harsh at all, that was the last thing he wanted, but he didnât know what he could say. In fact, Hercules was relieved to at least hear Lafayette had the same feelings, but his brain still went into straight panic mode. Of all things, he just hoped that this wouldnât harm their friendship in any way because that was the most important thing in the world to Herc.Â
