Something in the way she moves || James & Lily
As the words rolled off her tongue, James found himself surprised. Here, he had thought he had finally gotten her to simply not hate him… but love? Not in a million years did he think he’d actually have a chance - a real honest chance- of her loving him. And he wasn’t even sure how deep his feelings were. Certainly he had fancied her for a long time, despite the frustrations and fights, he wanted to be with her. He wanted to see her happy, and more than anything, he wanted to be the cause of that happiness. Was that love? James knew the platonic sort of love shared between friends and family…but romantic love, he was a little at a loss on. Pleasure was one thing… but love? That was a notion that seemingly escaped his grasp thus far.
But Lily was off again, walking away, before James really understood what was happening. Just like before, he took off after her, just as his brain allowed his legs to function properly. Lily loved him. Loved him. That affirmation made his whole inside warm. Catching up to her, close enough to hear her mantra, James bit his lip. She probably wouldn’t turn around for much…In a soft voice he said it, knowing that the words were truth, as they left his lips, “I love you too, Lily.”
She could here James coming down after her. But she was still muttering under her breath. But the words he had said so softly made her stop in her tracks. The words rang in her ear. Either he was trying to placate her or he actually felt it for her. She could only hope it was the latter. She slowly turned around on her heel. Looking James directly in the eye. A smile escaped her soft lips, and his soft words still rang in her ear. It was at that moment that, without even thinking, she ran towards him, jumping into his arms and kissing him with more passion than she had before.
Her hands ran wildly through his everlasting hair. She pulled away breathless, flushing slightly and grinning wider than ever. She really did love him. She had loved him for a while but just couldn't put it into words. And it was difficult but she did it and she was so happy. She kissed him again, the smile not escaping her lips, holding onto him tightly.
