Visual Novel about trying to get to the other side of a monster-infected lake.
A true monster horror story that focuses on the relationships of the people involved (non-romantic)
God it’s really cool how it affects things subtly like if you bond with a character, then later on Kikka (the main character) will automatically include them in something, but if you don’t bond with them, you get to choose if you include them or not
The story is enthralling and it's just very fun to play

Most try their best to avoid it all their lives. The hundreds who die attempting to cross its unearthly black water, dragged to death by the creatures lurking within, aren't secret" Behind them is a foggy, blue forest, centered on one huge tree.]
a few timed moments, but I never struggled to click one in time
People are going to die -- they just are. But it’s a visual novel so it’s easy to fix this or play all the routes pretty quickly because it's not a super long game
It doesn't punish you for not talking exclusively to one character
[ID: Art of a bonde man in armor with a sheathed sword holding a lantern stands in front of foggy, blue docks. Foggy-styled textboxes are in front of him, displaying 3 choices to pick. They are as follows:
"You're quite informed, Margret."
"I'm sure you are forgiven, Bemelle."
Say nothing.]
Everyone only ever uses He or She pronouns
You can get especially close to various people but they never take it explicitly romantic even at the end which is nice, even though I wanted to marry Bellame

beautiful art: both character and background. Often I would stop and just look at all the details in a drawing
the writing is gripping and makes your heart beat out of its chest
actually really wonderful voice acting -- all characters are voiced -- the narrations are not.
