It was not working when I bought this old radio from 1958, I have stripped it down, cleaned it and repaired it. Someone had sprayed gold paint all over it. It now works well and I listen to it for a few hours everyday.

Art things I wish I knew earlier #2

Every stage builds upon it’s previous stage. Think of a house with bad footing, no matter how awesome the furniture is, the house will fall. Similar to a drawing or painting.

This is why sketch phase and ideation phase is most important. Forget the details in the beginning, the picture isn’t gonna look great! Focus on shapes, proportion, and values. Is the idea cool to you? Thumbnails can be really useful for looking at big picture. If you’re happy then proceed to next stages.

However, do not obey the sketch though as this takes away potential “happy accidents.”

This water colour of Winnie the Pooh was in a picture frame the wife bought, we just wanted the frame but this picture intrigued me. The picture is signed on the back as you can see above, I am not 100% sure what it says but it looks a bit like Sam Pine. Does anyone have any ideas who the artist is? Thanks, Clive.
