âAliens are real. IâveâŠIâve seen them.â
"Well I'll believe aliens exist when I see one. And even then, I'll just put them under the same list of the supernatural.
I uh,.. I didnât do that at all.
Don't worry, I get them in my hair whenever I have to collect mum's herbs in the forest.
Why are you looking at me like that?
You look like you've rolled in the forest for a while. [picks out a leaf out of her hair] You have several leaves and small sticks in your hair.
âAliens are real. Your argument is invalid.â
It's possible, just we might not find out. How is your argument valid? There's only a possibility of them existing.
âSo youâre trying to tell me that even though werewolves, kanimaâs, bansheeâs, kitsunes and I can go on, are real, but youâre having a hard time believing that I believe in Aliens?â
Well werewolves and such live on Earth, but you're trying to think about things that live intergalatically. Highly impossible that we'll ever find out.
I hate english. Why can't we learn a harder language like Latin, or Korean?
"Gildas, probably." Gildas nodded solemnly as he shook his hand, "Seems like an odd name but we should get going before the sun sets." Gildas runs into the woods before circling back behind Hayley, "Merde, which way are we going?â
"Well I guess it's alright to meet you Gildas." Hayley said as she quickly let go of the male's hand. She raised an eyebrow at his comment. "Odd name? How is Hayley an odd name for a girl? You're probably right though." She said, looking up at the sky. Letting out a small giggle she pointed her head to the north. "This way, but follow me. You certainly don't look like you travel in the forest on a regular occurrance."
The fox rolled his eyes. âIf youâre willing to help you can call me Gil, otherwise goodbye works fine.â Gildas wiggles his hand in front of the Druid boy, âYou shake it kid.â
"Gil? That short for something?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Frowning, she spoke again, wiping her hand to remove any mountain ash before shaking the male's hand. "I prefer not to be called kid. My name's Hayley."
The long-haired boy was wary, and Gil could appreciate that. âA Druid I can work with.â He jumped forward and offered the Druid a hand. âI am a fox, and Iâve broken my music.â
Watching as the male drew his hand, Hayley raised her eyebrow. "Your music? Are you.... a music kitsune?" She asked nervously. She knew about the different kitsunes in her father's bestiary but wasn't fully aware of all the different supernatural species. "What do I call you?"Â Â
Was just trying to see if you were actually asleep. I already got what I needed though. [He lifts a bag that he has in his hand, smiling a little] If youâre tired you should go home.
Well.... I was half asleep? Oh, well then. [points to the door] Have to wait for mum before heading home.
Gildas circled around to the left and gave a small, almost mockng bow, âI did not mean to mistake your gender, sir, are you perhaps a warlock? A druid maybe?â He smiled and waved a hand dismissevely, âDonât bother with the wolfsbane. I am no wolf. I am something else and require help. Are you a healer?âÂ
Turning as the male moved, Hayley kept a full view of him. She hadn't seen him before, so she guessed that he was new to town. "Warlock, no. Druid? Maybe." She said simply. "Again I ask, who and what are you? I gathered that you're not a werewolf. Why do you want a healer for?" She asked hesitantly, hearing that he required help. She was still very cautious of the male. Â
Pretty sure Dad didnât âaccidentallyâ update the Wikipedia entry on screamers to include my name and picture.
Thanks, Jeremy. Asshole.
Your brother did something like that? Why?
Gildas rose from his perch and jumped down near the young girl, the odd combination of the young girl and the stilted anthem had kept him listening longer than he should have. It was the clearest heâd heard someoneâs song in weeks. He was looking for a second person, because surely this slip of a thing didnât belong to âthe eye of the tigerâ. When he found mature wolfsbane growing in the old way he knew that someone would be coming for it soon. He hoped for a Druid and not a hunter, a hunter was unlikely to plant in such a remote location. They liked hydroponics. So he had a strong suspicion he was staring down a Druid. âHold your potions witch. Iâm not here to hurt you.â
Watching the male jump down the tree with grace, she could tell he wasn't a druid, more of a shapeshifter which made her heart stopped breifly before she tried to calm herself down. She was worried as she knew he would've noticed her picking up the wolfsbane. Rolling her eyes she took a step back to further herself from the male. "I feel insulted that you're calling me a witch. And I'll be the judge of that. Who and what are you?" She said coldly, holding a handful of mountain ash.
Hm? Oh no, of course not. Whoever gave you that crazy idea?
[rubs her eyes before opening them properly] I could feel your eyes drilling into my head. You need something?
What? Is a girl not allowed to sleep at her work when she's on break and when the store's about to close?
âI didnât mean to startle you.â He pointed out. Nathaniel had just been passing through. He wasnât keen on following people for certain reasons and when he could sense the fear rise in this girl, he almost felt bad. âIâm just passing through. Iâm sorry.â He wasnât sure why he was so invested in apologizing, but maybe it was because at one point of his life he had been in her position too; scared of the outside world only to have it get worse when he got bitten. If it hadnât been for Deucalion, he probably wouldnât be as confident as he was these days. The forest was the quickest way to get from point A to point B in this place. Since he no longer had to worry about having nowhere to live â he settled himself living with his alpha and had found a job in the process hoping to eventually gather up enough money so he could move.Â
âWhy are you out here, anyway? Havenât you heard these woods are dangerous?â
Watching closely as the male stepped out into the open, Hayley was still wary of someone who was in the woods at this time of night. Her finger were still touching the mountain ash in the pouch, and it was obvious that she was radiating her cautiousness out. Nodding slightly at the male, Hayley swung the bag of wolfsbane over shoulder, still keeping her eyes on the male in case he made any suspicious movements.
"My mother grows herbs here, so I came to grab some. I have heard, but I'm capable of protecting myself. Plus if it's dangerous, why are you in here?" Her voice came off colder than she anticipated.
