So this is the full post, the changes I’ve made, albeit small changes, to the Fox Hunt AU.

I am working on more of the plot itself during this update! I’ll be finding a way to keep notes and all that stuff.

The symbols on their faces are relating more to Alchemy symbols now, though couldn’t find a super close one to Bill so he got Gold anyways, maybe he rebelled and really wanted the gold symbol. Dipper is Silver and Mabel is Copper. The idea of them being Dream hunters (Bill and Dipper) is still going too, as for what was said on the very first post I put! If there are any questions or suggestions to this AU, I’ll answer them, given that I can actually have my brain cooperate on providing them.

Yeah just. If youre gonna use the native American aesthetic then do some research. The idea behind the au is good! Just be more mindful of how you present it. Be careful not to appropriate a culture

Yeaaaah, I think I’ll keep a lot of the idea but discard the specific Native American pieces of it, just keep the whole dream hunter part and junk but make changes. So there won’t be idea changes but the Native American part will be changed out, I’m not much of a history buff so yeeeeah, gonna work on this! Besides, thanks for telling me instead of avoiding, I hate to offend anyone and who knows how far this woulda gotten and if I hadn’t known, how badly that would’ve gone.

Maybe just do some more in-depth research rather than basing an au on the aesthetic? Like I get it I like the symbolism and whatnot too but. It's a culture. It'll be better with research both in practice and in theory

Yeah, I shouldn’t go with my gut or feelings, I’ll most likely just go with trying to be original cus it doesn’t require being fully invested on learning history (because boy, I am not very good at keeping track on historical things.)

No, it’s fine, if it offends you, I can make changes, but was it the fact I contributed specifically Native American culture into it? I can try some thing new then, less potentially offensive.

But I’m open for discussion otherwise, if people have possible ideas.

Okay I’ve come to a conclusion, I’ll redo their outfits and all but...lemme try to make sense here on how I’ll explain it, like, keep the general clothing idea, but not a specific culture ya know? I’ll make it still cool looking but less potentially offensive.

As for anyone who gets offended with my idea, I mean, I’m sorry and I can make changes if it does offend you but, I actually find the mythologies and symbolisms in it very intriguing, I always have a huge fascination with cultural stuff involving symbolism and mythologies, always. But if there’s any aspect of it that makes you feel offended, tell me what you would like me to reconsider, or what I should consider changing.

Well...I wasn’t sure, I was kinda basing symbols and totem animals off of that but I see now where I’ve gone a wrong direction with it. I probably should’ve thought further in.

So...should I tan them up a bit or some thing? Like I mentioned, this idea wasn’t planned prior to making it, I just went on a whim and “fuck it let’s do this”

I mean, if it makes everyone else happier, I can go tan em up but eugh, I guess I’m lazy.

White washy? That was an odd word to me so I was confused but I get it now, uh, as for explanation, I honestly just literally came up with this AU recently so as for details, it’s more of an in progress ordeal for the time being until I figure things out, I’m mostly making pictures but I’m all for ideas.

So what I DO have so far, is that it’s roughly based on Native American culture (specifically which tribe or culture, is uncertain). Dipper is a protector of nightmares and bad energy and Bill is the bringer of those things, everyone in the village has a power of sorts (Mabel helps with mood and energy too, bringing more positive vibes). Everyone is also born with a totem/spirit animal and have a familiar of their totem animal that helps them out as their owner grows and gains powers. Bill’s reason for landing in that town hasn’t been made yet, or why he prefers to stay there and tease Dipper, he does find Dipper a lot of fun to tease though, being the opposite of his powers and all.

HAha, I’m sorry I don’t got a lot of details yet, I just made a vague idea and rolled it out, but I’m up for potential ideas on the whole plot, also I have a horrible tendency to forget details and should write down things about this AU but it mostly is made without prior planning.

Another addendum to this AU is that each person also comes with a familiar that is their totem animal. It can help with magic (such as healing) and can change sizes, but in very few cases, can change form completely at will, changing identity.

The familiar responds the same as their owner, emotions and thoughts manifest within the familiar and they respond in ways as such: If the human is angered, the familiar will become savage. As for other emotions, haven’t developed that further in yet.

Bill’s familiar is able to change identity, one of the few cases!
