Daddy's Job Doesn't End When He Leaves Work

It’s important to remember that as the head of your house, your day does not end when you leave your workplace. You are responsible for leading your home, making decisions, problem solving arising issues and, if need be, any disciplinary actions that need to be taken.

Praise and encourage good behavior. Upon being served a drink or if a task has been completed particularly well, a simple “Thank you” or “I’m proud of you” can go far. Don’t withhold affection because you think it makes you look weak or unmanly. Treating your woman like a queen will make it safe for her to treat you like a king.

On the other hand, address any problems in a prompt and even-handed manner, but learn to spot the difference between disobedience and tasks not completed due to mitigating circumstances. When appropriate, deliver swift, but fair, punishment to all deserving members of the household, but let the punishment act as atonement. There is no place for grudges when running your household.

Above all, always remember that you are a leader, teacher and role model.
