It pisses me off quite a bit how like. If I introduce something using they/them pronouns, people always respond with he/him as though I don't know. Like I forgot that everything's pronouns are he/him. I know they're not doing it maliciously but it's always. Even with gender queer people!! I'll talk to people who get bothered that people assume their gender is xyz and in the same breath call the squirrel we just saw he/him. I'm pretty sure that thang is not sexually dimorphic enough for you to know

I dunno. I made a creature that's kinda supposed to be me in a weird way and I've been very careful to only refer to it with it/they/she, and I have yet to have someone gender her with anything but he/him first try. Making me feel a little bit misgendered too tbh and I really wasn't prepared for that.

#and I know I'm not pronoun perfect. I mix them up and I assume gender binary on people who look “normal enough”#but I'm mad anyways. I'm surrounded by people who play with gender and talk about feminist ideals #and yet my fantasy deer creature's gotta be a boy. clearly that's a boy.#it's not even a boy in a boy way it's a boy in the everything-is-boy-until-proven-otherwise way #I DON'T WANT TO BE. I don't want to make feminist art but fucking hell if I gotta in order to be gendered correctly first try then SURE.fin #gendered “correctly” is so flexible btw. my “correct” pronouns are she/her but I'm chill with literally anything other than he/him #not all trans mascs obviously but I've been meeting a few that assume they can't be sexist bc they were girls before #but they're not really considering that their approach to the world is one that's been denying them masculinity #to call something he/him for them is to claim identity I suspect but that doesn't change the fact that it alienates me #I don't want to insist that things are feminine/girls/she either but whenever I try they/them or the absence of gender #people take it as permission to use he/him #I don't want to have a debate over gender every time we talk about an animal but I don't want to roll over and let the world claim #that he/him is the default #I don't really know where I'm going with this but I don't want to rant about this irl bc I don't really want the political weight #like. I don't want to have to defend my position or explain my takes #either you get it or you don't and if you don't get it you need to understand it from somewhere else #I don't want to carry the burden of feminist ideas. THis! Is actually my dnd character lmao. My partner is running a campaign for me and two good friends, I'm playing a satyr with an anxiety disorder and leg that barely works and an appearance that changes every session.

To be clear, I didn't plan on giving her anxiety, but then our NPC's bones exited his body and he kept talking even though his heart wasn't beating so uh. I don't think I had any option other than to be scared
