This has been my headcanon for YEARS, but like—

Y’all ever wonder if Rafiki played matchmaker with Timon and Pumbaa?

I mean…

Who told Timon about Hakuna Matata? Rafiki.

And who did Timon meet just hours after speaking with Rafiki? PUMBAA.

And when Timon couldn’t remember the words “Hakuna Matata” later on, after they’d settled into their jungle oasis—

WHO SAID “EH, HAKUNA MATATA” AFTER TIMON SNAPPED IN FRUSTRATION?!?

PUMBAA.

So… where’d Pumbaa learn that phrase?!?

I think Rafiki spoke to both of them that night. And I think maybe he sensed Pumbaa was lonely and sent him in Timon’s general direction 👀
