I doubt you’ll see this, but I hope that you might, although I understand that at the moment scrolling through tumblr is probably the last thing on your mind.
I’ll start by introducing myself. I am Lizzie. Just like you, I am in my twenties, I have a job, a family I love, and a family history of cancer. In my family’s case, breast cancer (and other oestrogen linked cancers) to be exact. I have also worked with cancer patients. So I understand the kind of worry, struggle and hardship your family might be going through right now.
I would like you to know that despite whatever the world may swing your family’s way there is always light in the dark and there is always hope in struggle. Please remember these words. Often, when a family member gets diagnosed with cancer, we forget to care for each family member as well. It is emotionally hard work to care for another person with cancer in any capacity.
So please take the time to make sure you are okay. Not just medically but socially and emotionally too. Make sure you and each member of your family has a strong support network. Feel free to reach out if needed. I hope my words are something, but no words are never enough.
