TITLE: Borrowed Heat AUTHOR: Usedupshiver ARTIST: Mioishin PAIRINGS: Loki / Tony Stark RATING: T (Mostly for some swears and whatnot.) WARNINGS: None. Basically all cuteness. SUMMARY: No, Tony isn’t pleased about the fact that Loki is now a part of the Avengers. He can’t really forgive, he definitely can’t trust, but team is team so he does his best to deal with it. When a magical mishap turns Loki into a dragon – of all things! – it’s for some reason still Tony he seeks out for help and protection. So now Tony is stuck with a clingy and demanding dragon for company, until things can hopefully be set right.
The rest of the Avengers are not amused, but getting to know Loki in this new skin is letting Tony see the team trickster in a different light. Maybe he’s really not all bad? LINK TO STORY: http://archiveofourown.org/works/5150753 LINK TO ART: Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4

Can you? Can you wipe out that much red? Your ledger is dripping, it’s gushing red, and you think saving a man no more virtuous than yourself will change anything? This is the basest sentimentality. This is a child at prayer… Pathetic! You lie and kill in the service of liars and killers. You pretend to be separate, to have your own code, something that makes up for the horrors. But they are a part of you, and they will never go away.

What gets to me about this scene is what was left unsaid. He started out so angry, declaring Odin was not his father without a hint of remorse, but as soon as he said those same things to Frigga, the regret on his face was evident. He shook his head as he approached her, as if to say “no, I didn’t mean that”, and reached out, only to be reminded that she was not actually there. The moment she disappeared, you can see on his face, thinking, I’m so stupid.
And perhaps he had thought that he could make it up to her later, apologize when she contacted him next, only to find out that she had died after the prison riot, a riot that he aided by telling the perpetrator what path to take. And now there was no going back, and he had to live knowing that her last memory of him would be of him telling her he’s not his mother. For the first time, he felt the consequences of his own actions, and he could do nothing but rage at himself.

First of all…. who gave you the right
Can we also discuss how it was kind of his fault too? If you remember when the guy was escaping Loki told him which way to go probably hoping that he would kill Odin, he told him which stair case to take so that he wouldn’t get caught and would have a quick route to Odin’s chambers where Frigga and Jane were hiding so to find out that the same prisoner had killed his mother it’s the ultimate guilt of ‘this is my fault’ has to be driving him nuts.
Well, in truth Frigga’s Death was not Loki’s fault. Yes he told the guy what stairs to take but that was to get to the Throne room. He did not go to the chambers until after. After Malakith was talking to Frigga and after they were fighting. It is very possible that the guy had herd the noise and then went to go see what was going on. The attack was meant for Odin yes, but there was NO way that he could have known that He would end up with Frigga and killing her. Yes, Loki would put guilt on himself but he really is not his fault.
