“are you… throwing up in there?”
As I sat up against the door, wiping away some of the throw up around my lips, I ignored Mia, hoping she would leave me in peace. I didn’t want to talk to anyone right now. Too many thoughts were running through my head enabling me to even focus or think clearly. I wasn’t expecting to get as drunk as I did the other night. I don’t think Nathan did either. It was a stupid mistake the both of us made. After Sam went missing, Nathan and I became closer. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t falling in love with him. I’ve always sheltered myself and never opened up to anyone often. Especially in the state our world is in now. I finally began to feel safe with the presence of Nathan. Having him around has made living more bearable. I don’t want to raise a baby in this post-apocalyptic world. I don’t even know if I would be able to survive that long with the conditions I will be in for the next nine months. I need to tell Nathan, but ever since Sam came back, Nathan has been happier. I’m happy for him. Thinking you lost the person you love, and then finding them later in safe conditions must be a magical feeling. I don’t want to lose the feeling of love I’ve just discovered. It’s almost as if it’s my turn to lose the one I love, but why do I have to continue to see his smiling face everyday as he falls deeper in love with Sam and more distant with me everyday?
