I had no outlet, you know? And I never knew what I wanted to do. I couldn’t figure it out. I love to write and I love to sing. But I never had hit on it and when I first started writing songs…it was like this endless puzzle, you know, writing songs, and the most fun thing ever, and the most beautiful thing ever. And I got to take all of my kind of angsty Facebook statuses and all the stuff and put it into this thing that felt so tangible and so permanent.
