The weeks dragged by and the fateful day of the show crept closer and closer. You noted that Cruella became snappier than usual, and you had no intention of challenging her again. At least not at this time, she had kept her promise about your pay, which was nearly double the salary you had previously been making.
It finally came down to the final week, and you had been dashing back and forth between Hell Hall and the downtown House of Deville location, ensuring that all of the preparations were being made in a fashionable manner. You had only just set foot back into Hell Hall, a solid 45-minute cab ride from downtown when you saw Cruella descending the staircase.
