fellow 19yr old here in a similar situation (guy is 27 so not exactly the same but similar!!!) i really do think it's all about maturity tbh like i don't want to sound pretentious or whatever but everyone tells me im very mature cause of my life circumstances. (not the 27 yr old that'd be kinda suspicious) i think it's completely fine if you're closely matched in maturity (i might be biased js cause i kind of want him)

moral of the story, hookup seems completely fine if that's what ur going for as long as ur class wouldn't be weird afterwards. as far as a serious relationship goes i think the age is less of an issue (assuming the maturity is similar) than the situationship aspect yk? like personally the flakiness of on and off texting always rubs me the wrong way.

if i’m being honest i think its really icky and weird for a grown man who is almost 30 to even have a situationship let alone with a 19 year old. i’m 23 and i would never look at a 19 y/o but technically you are a grownup so do what you’re most comfortable with (but DONT let him pressure you into anything!!)

okay so context about the older guy😔!!: we met at university, he texted me bc he wanted to ask something about a class (before this we never really talked bc i always hang out with the same two people), we kept talking after that and like a day later he started flirting with me which got me like 😃🤨

tbh i never really considered a serious relationship with him??? i mean, he's hot, but still ten years older, i don't mind age gaps but being 19 is not a good time for that lol

the thing is at first i wanted it to be just like a hookup ykkk?? but since we both have different, very busy jobs we never really saw each other apart from university, then we started this thing where we stopped talking for weeks, then text again, then stop and talk and stop and talk

ANYWAYY, now we're texting again but he's been telling me he likes me fr BUT i'm still not sure about it🤨 my friends say i should do it just because, and i thought i wanted that too but since he now has "feelings" (i'm not convinced about that either but okay) idk what to do lmao

Is it weird to be in a situationship with a 29 year old? If the friend is the same age as you, 100%. I have no issues with age gaps but I'd question anyone over 25 dating someone that young, and without more context, it's a bit weird. If the friend is over 23/4, I'd be less questioning just because I feel like a 23 year old has more general experience than a 19 year old, but again, context.

(and honestly, I have known one or two 19 year olds who would technically be more suited to dating people in their mid to late 20s, but it's rare and honestly very rarely do people in their late 20s feel comfortable dating a 19 year old unless they're a bit dodgy ime)
