Bite by Bite

Traveling bit by bit to experience all food possible. Bite by bite. After growing up in a small town, I left my roots and traveled first to San Francisco and in August of 2012, trekked two thirds across the country to Chicago, IL. I'm an ex-photo student who now uses photography as a medium of documentation; of food, of cities, and occasionally of my work. I found one of my true pleasures by something everyone else in the world does - eating. I created this blog first, as a form of cataloging and journaling the places I ate at and second, to reveal to others little treasures that exist around the cities I've lived. Enjoy. That night our meal consisted of some incredible roasted brussel sprouts with walnuts and pork belly, fried octopus with tofu, soup dumplings (which were dumplings inside dumplings with soup in between the two), ox-tail with bao buns, mango pudding with tapioca balls, and two pots of tea. 

Everything about it was splendid.

After leaving my laptop at school while it closed for the holidays, I finally have it back and am hoping to work on some much-needed editing, processing, and culminating some projects that I've been on the verge of starting for too long.

Including updating this…of course.

Summer reminiscent In a little chicago neighborhood called Bridgeport exists a gem of a place called Pleasanthouse...and right next to it is Maria's. Over the summer, at Maria's, Maria's son grills sausages in the back patio and serves them out as a weekly monday ritual to any of the sneaky individuals who know about it. Free korean bbq...only go for the kimchi slaw and jokes...and beer.

Every year on the day after thanksgiving (black friday, I suppose), a good friend and I go to Buffalo Joes to mack out on wings and waffle fries. It's a good tradition if I do say so myself.
