This week is the finale of one of my favorite love live ask blogs, the cat AU, @lovelivenekoproject. I never got a chance to interact with them, since I started running the kid AU when the cats went on hiatus…

Hello all! It’s been quite awhile since this blog has seen the light of day. For that, I apologize. I said that I would still be working on this blog, but unfortunately things happen. Life gets busy, and interests change. I don’t foresee myself coming back permanently at all, but to end the blog I will be holding one last event. Hello all! I just wanted to bring some news for this blog. I won’t be getting to update as frequently as I was over the summer due to school starting. I have a lot of work that I need to get done and less time and motivation for this blog. Of course, I still plan on updating, but asks may be coming out slow for some time.
Congratulations to caffeineandroid and insane-deaddreamer, Nico’s new owners! I sincerely thank all the participants. It was a tough call to choose the winner, all entries were fantastic! However it seems just because Nico has found a new home for her family doesn’t mean she’s going to stop paying visits to our favorite rich house cat.
Today is also insane-deaddreamer‘s birthday, so please send kind birthday wishes her way!

The idea behind this comic came from a mix of the fact that I’d give my soul for Nico and the idea of what could be the reaction of Maki’s owner to having Nico come inside of their house to see maki every so often. And yes, I may have come with my own desing for Maki’s owner, but I only realized that that might not be entirely okay with the rules after I had it almost finished, so I decided to keep it the way it is, take the risk and not delete all my work.
That being said, I only want to add that I’m a big fan of Nekoproject and when I heard I had a possibility to create a character to be nico’s owner I almost screamed. So at least I hope you enjoy the comic ^^

It was a sunny day in Tokyo and a local cat named Yazawa Nico was celebrating it with a trip to the park. it had been a hard time for her in recent months with her only shelter being an abandoned run down house, Some where quiet to relax and take a nice nap.
“Boy, finding a new home is hard.” She mewed to no one in particular as she found a nice place under a group of trees, one where the sunbeams spread just enough through the trees. It was a perfect temperature for her so she curled up and went to sleep.
Meanwhile a feminine young man with purplish hair done up in a ponytail behind his head and dressed in a paint dyed shirt and shorts had parked a modified motor scooter next to a tree near the road. It had a basket on the front and back with a spare tire underneath the back basket and looked to be designed to go very fast. The man withdrew a sketchbook,a pencil tin and a bag which he threw around his shoulder then made his way into the park where Nico was sleeping. The man dropped his bag down gently, placed his pencils down carefully, leaned against the opposite side of one of the trees that made up the cat’s temporary nest. The man sketched for a little while and Nico didn’t even move till the man opened his bag and withdrew a store brought bento.

The autumn it’s close to finish for being replaced by the Winter, you can feel how the wind it’s getting colder with each passing day, which make you add more coats layers to your body, the only thing that I which now is get to my house, turn on the electric heater that my mom gave me and sit down in front on it until my body get the warmth that I yearning so much, but it still lack so much for that, because Im stand on the bus stop 10 minutes ago and the stupid hasn’t arrived so with a sigh I resigned to have to walk the rest of the path. My short and curly hair dance with the breeze and my brown eyes look at the landscape.
-Ahh…- I let go a sigh of resignation, I love this season, but I love it more when I’m in my house with a cup of tea in my hands - hope there still food in the fridge, I would hate to get out again - I put on my headphones and I choose a random song, ignoring everything around me , I see how the sunset come closer - well…at least I was capable to look at the sunset - I stop a little to admire it, I love sunsets, it’s remember me the moments that I and my grandparents used to looking at it, every day, but that was before they gone to a better place. Lost in my thoughts I wasn’t able to feel nothing, until something very painful touch my leg -¡aaaagh! - I look at where the pain comes, but I can only see a black thing running to a close post, like something normal I knelt and check if there any wound, for my lucky there’s nothing, I let go a breath of relief and put my sight to the place where the author of this is hiding, a black thing show up slowly letting me see with more clarity that a cat was the one who hurt me, I go close to it with a slow step thinking that it would be go running, I love cats, but for some reason they don’t love me, why this would be different? - come, come here, don’t be afraid of me - I say, with a kind smile, or I try, since I can’t see if I’m doing good or bad. For my surprise, the cat come closer to me and it rub her back against my hand, which I stretched previously - you got a very fluffy fur - I pet the cat from the head to the tail, I repeat the process a couple of times until I place my hand in their belly to see how it react, and it was how I hope, for my surprise, it leaned back in the ground showing me the belly, I just couldn’t take it and I start petting that zone too, what can I say?, cat are my kryptonite and this fluffy hair ball is too adorable.
I have no idea how many time I spend with her, by the way, I found out that is a “she” when she get upset and bury me her claws when I said “you’re a very cute boy”, the thing it’s that the time to say goodbye arrived, and that is the hardest part.
-well I gotta go, so bye, hope we can see, hope we can meet again - although I say it easily, see her ruby eyes make it everything more harder, I turner meanwhile I stand up to go out of the place, I just go four steps and look over my shoulder to that little creature, watching wit I think is sadness - I…maybe I come tomorrow for play a little more - and continued my walking -”I don’t know what I’m thinking, talking with a cat ”
it’s been two weeks playing with this kitty, everyday since then I buy cat food in a nearby store, I was planned give it her my lunch but it can be bad for her, it’s not that my cooking skill are bad, but better prevent that regret right?
In this moment I pet her head meanwhile she eat happily and heard her adorable purr -I wish there were more kitties like you, no one want to play with me except you - suddenly she raise up her head looking right to my eyes and of nothing she bite my hand -¡aaaauuuh! -my haversack and all its content spilled in the ground, the black feline take my wallet into her mouth, ¿¡who force me to to buy such a light wallet!? Faster I take all my stuff, I put it into the haversack and start to run after that ungrateful hair ball I gave her food and this is how she pay me? Maybe she want my wallet to buy more cat food, “what I’m thinking? is just a cat, ¡she can’t do those things!”
I been running like 10 minutes after that evil but adorable creature, she turn in a house that you can notice to miles that is abandoned. She entered by a broke window -damn it! there have to be a way to get in!-eureka! at surround the house I find the door, at the beginning it was hard but with three pushes I overthrow the door - alright cat, give me back my wallet, I need it, in fact if you want it, keep it, but let me take all the things that have in it interior -I walk into the structure of that old house at the same time that I speak -great, now I’m bargaining with a cat, mom was right, I have serious problems…¿uh? - A sound of some little thing call my attention, I walk to the place I heard the sound, maybe and with some lucky, that cat let go my wallet by accident but what I found it wasn’t that, it was a little cat, it seems disoriented, maybe the reason is that he (or she) never see me before, maybe.
-Hey Did you see passes a cat with a wallet?
-miau - was all the answer that I got
-now that I think about it…you look like her -I take the little feline in my arms and pet his head, he started to purr and like consequence another two kitties shows up and walk in my direction -well now you are three - I drop the little one in the ground with delicacy, I pet the head of the one who just arrived.
-miau -I turn my head to find the cause of all this of my improvise race, I have to admit, am not good for running, I go to where she is faster and take away of her my precious wallet from her mouth.
-hey, steal is bad! especially if you steal to the person who have been feeding you! - my scream make notice the cholera that was invading me and caused that the little hair balls get scared, but still, they didn’t escape, wich surprise me a little bit -are these…your kids? hyaa! - a scratch came to my face without previous advice -why do you attack me now? I just said that they are your kids -now was the turn for an aggressive bite in my leg -alright maybe I make a mistake! what do I know! grandchildren! nephews, cousins! stop scratching me! -with every answer that I give the cat attack me -siblings!!?? -and the attacks ceased, why I don’t think that before! -I see, they are cute, just like you -I kneel to watch them better and pet each one, playing with those four time goes flying and the afternoon ended, just like the other day with the biggest cat, it was hard to say goodbye but I make the promise of come back the next day.
When I finally get home a wave of cold invade me “of course, I’m alone” -it always been my dream being in japan so when the school of my country offered a journey of exchange I couldn’t resist and I enroll immediately, thanks to the divine force, of all the postulants they choose me, although I had to went alone, that was the hardest part, I used to have someone waiting for me in the afternoon, with a cup of milk and asking me “how was your day”. But now I’m alone, mom don’t want to come with me because she can’t handle the life in japan, especially for the food, she is not a big fan of exotic food, that is how she called it, she barely eat sushi, and the first tome my big brother force her.
-he…that was fun -a little laugh go out of my mouth, remember those times in my country, it’s not that I don’t like japan, it’s just that sometimes the memories comes for itself and it’s hard not miss your roots from time to time.
I close the door behind me and enter at the apartment that was give it to me thanks to the scholarship, it’s not luxurious but it’s a good place to live but cover all the needs that one can have. After have a shower with warm water I go direct to the living room to lay in the soft couch, I turn on the TV, I don’t feel like want to see something specific, honestly I don’t understand the japanese TV shows and the jokes are too cruel, so I decide to see the weather.
-tonight we will have rain with a lot of wind, so if you are still in the street I suggest you to hurry, it’ll be a very hard rain… -I stop listening to the man of grey suit and glasses “rain? cold?…” without thinking twice I put the first jacket that I found, take a box of a printer that I buy a few months ago, I cut the flaps and put a blanket inside, I take other one for cover the box and go out of the apartament running immediately, I will worry after if I closed the door.
-wait for me guys, I’m on my way -I’m sure that the woman next to me look at me with a odd gaze because I’m talking to the nothing but I don’t care that, the only thing that cares me in this moments are those little cats, that abandoned house will kill them of cold, how many winters they had to support in there?
when I double the street to get in the house on ruins rain has started, everyone who passed was opening their umbrellas except me of course, because the hurry filled my brain and my priority was another, I enter for the framework of the door and let the box in the ground.
-guys? where are you? Come, I’ll take you home - there was no reaction, maybe they just gone, it’s logic, go for a warmer place. I take the box to go but a sound stop me, I look back, there was the cat that gave me so many punches, she come closer to my leg and start to cuddle with it, slowly I crouch and pet that hair ball that soften my heart, I take her and put her in the box, she show up from the side -And your siblings? -Like she trying to guide me her head turned to an amount of wood, surely that must have been before the stairs, I went to the rubble, slowly stretched my hand and received a scratch -god! why everybody hurt me!? -I take my cell and activate the flashlight,exposing those three kittens being covered by a biggest one, that should be the mother, I turn off the flashlight and put away my phone, I approached cautiously to the four animals and I use the softest voice I could have.
-Don’t worry…I won’t hurt you…I want to take you home…where there is food and warmth -it seems not to work, the face of hate the the mother gave me didn’t change -Sorry if I was not present, my name is Abigail, I have 17 years, about 18, I live alone in an apartment, I know you barely know me, but your other daughter does and she trust me … give me a chance, I take care of you -I stretch my hand again but there was no reaction from the biggest cat, so I take the opportunity and pet her, her face changed completely and her features softened although it was dark I could notice it, slowly she raise up and let go her three children, who ran into the box, they sister helped them enter, for my part I take the mother and with soften let her into the box.
I take a taxi to go home, the rain get worse and I wasn’t prepared for catch a cold, not now that I have under my care 5 creatures, when I arrive I paid to the man and go faster to the department, if the lessee get to see me she will get angry because I don’t tell her that I bring pets and she won’t accept a “I save this cats from the rain” like an answer.
-home sweet home, you’re welcome -5 little heads emerged from the box with curiously, inspecting the place and of course the firsts who go inspect was the three little kittens, I have to take the others two out of the box, it looks like they can’t believe what was they watching and me neither, my heart was filled with something warm, to see those creatures in the floor, makes me smile
It’s another beautiful day in the winter season, I hope the bus anxiously, I want to get home, finally the bus arrived and I walk up as fast as possible, I hold on my great desire of yell to the bus man to accelerate. Finally I’m in the building in which I live and I run to my apartment, I open the door cautiously.
-I’m home! -without wait 3 small black cats are thrown over me, making me stumble -haha, you surprise me guys! -my laugh of happiness, it’s been long time since I heard it, but with these little ones everything is joy -how are you? -the big sis of the kitties approached me and gave me several licks to my cheek -I miss you too -I kissed his head with love but a little noise made me look my bag, those naughty found the bag with their meal -Hey! that was supposed to be a surprised! -I get up from the ground and took the bag’s packages -well, who is hungry? -I received five mews in response, which made my smile grow … yeah … I’m not alone anymore.
