His large hands held your smaller frame against his in the dark evening night. The warm light illuminating from the garden lamps cast a silhouette of your forbidden lover. The castle ground was quiet around the two of you, and the only sound playing in the back was from the water fountain that stood as a memorial of where you first met.
With a gentle sigh, you leaned closer to his armored chest as he stroked your hair softly, releasing a sigh of his own. “Oh Alyn,” you sigh, looking up into his dark ruby eyes. He cast you a warm look before a soft smile came onto his lips, “What’s with that face,” he jokes, pinching your flushed cheeks. Shaking your head away from his large hands, his smile falters when he looks down at the sad features displayed on your once happy face. “Alyn, maybe we could just elope?”
Alyn furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes at the words you whispered to him. “Princess,” he starts causing you to look away in frustration from hearing that title, “You know we can’t do that. Your wedding with King Byron is approaching soon. You know your duties and I know mine, to protect you.” You sighed frustrated before slipping back into Sir Alyn Crawford’s warm arms, “I don’t care…” You grumble making Alyn sigh once more. “It’s for the Wysteria, besides,” he continues to inform, making her shut her eyes in anger, “I’d have to give up my title as knight.”
You finally opened your sad eyes to look at the ground. Alyn was right, you could never make Alyn give up being a knight. You knew how hard he worked to reach where he was, being the captain of the Wysterian guards. Being your knight and always being by your side, even if he was only doing his job, you both fell into a forbidden love. Clenching your teeth, you pushed Alyn away from you, hanging your head down with trembling lips, “Then I wish I would never have been chosen as the princess, that way we could have been able to love each other freely.”
Alyn scowled, reaching out for your hand, “Hey, don’t say that.” he scolded and you look to the side annoyed, “Then we would have never met, is that what you want?” He questioned sternly, staring down at you for a few silent minutes before you finally shook your head guiltily. Alyn sighed, reaching over to pull you close, planting a soft kiss on your forehead.
“Even if you marry King Byron, just know that I’ll never stop loving you,” Tears began to form in your eyes as you leaned against Alyn’s chest, clutching at his cape. Sobs escaped your lips and into the silent air as Alyn places a comforting hand on your back warmly, tightening his lips to stop any emotions from slipping. “I love you too Alyn,” she says desperately between her sobs.
Maybe this love is forbidden because of our titles, but that doesn’t stop my heart from wanting you. I could never imagine my life without you Alyn. You are my heart and my soul.
